If you want the best out of Jude , play with runners like Gordon and Watkins . You see how he plays at Madrid with Vini, Rodrygo and Brahim stretching play but Southgate plays too many ball to feet players , who get in each others way
This is true we saw how Jude created England's best ever created chance when he had Watkins making a run Kane and Foden would never make Saka's made a few good ones and I think he can continue but we need both a good runner up front and a passer as incisive as Jude next to him in the midfield if he makes a box crash
Completely agree, I'm not a Spurs fan but you can tell how insightful he is a about the game and doesn't just agree with what everyone else says which other pundits do.
It’s not necessarily about getting the best out of any single player, it’s about getting the best out of the team as a collective. Sometimes this may involve reigning in some players to provide more overall balance.
I'm wondering when the world is going to know that Jude has been injured that second half of the season and they aren't going to find their own reasons for his drop off it's not just his position where he was never actually a false nine anyway farther back than that but still he did become more all rounded and less offensively involved but there's also people claiming he's just bad which is wild to me either way we'll see
It seems like Southgate will be the last person on Earth to realise this. Even before we had the clear evidence of the three group games, it was clear that Foden LW and Bellingham at 10 would mean both players trying to occupy the same space and this probably wasn't going to work. The infuriating thing is there are multiple solutions staring Gareth in his stupid face: Bellingham at 8 and Foden at 10 Bellingham at 10, Gordon LW, Foden benched or RW Just try one of them ffs!
@@jamest8108or switch Saka and Foden. Atm England have nothing on the left with Trippier at leftback and Foden cutting inside. Saka would offer width on the left and Foden cutting inside from right would allow Walker or Trent to overlap from rightback
The fact that ange postecoglou is an outsider to english football culture means that he can look at it objectively. With his knack for straight but coherent and intelligent talk he's able to articulate an original perspective to an audience that's become accusomed to hearing clichés and conacious bias
@@Evemeister12 What an odd comment.....Also , how do you know ? the club hid it or TRIED to hide it for decades and only being punished now . Who's to say what goes on.
Im an arsenal fan but kobbie for me is exceptional..love the kids. His aura is something else, attitude is spot on, raw and his ability is there for all to see
@xXOblivionXx1 Aura??? England fans need to start seeing the team how England's opponents see the team. These are proud professional footballers, which experience and national pride...they will not see any 'aura' around Mainoo or Bellingham.
Kobbie is the man to help Jude play his best game. Gordon should also start on the left imo. The team needs width to create space through the middle. If it’s not working Southgate needs to be proactive and make the changes early and not in the last 5 minutes!! We need to make the opposition worry about us and not the other way round
@@MrQuicky2407Bellingham not really proved himself at high stakes football. Was quiet as a church mouse in the CL final. Hes a great player but the typical English media have decided to start a hype machine around someone. This idea we build a team around Bellingham is ridiculous.
Bellingham is a player who is happy to play out of position and does what the manager asks him to do. Maybe for England just play him in his full position. Central Midfielder no flapping about!
what England needs is keep all the players running and shifting position, then pass many quality balls into the box with Kane and Bellingham run in. In fact, even the players in the bench can be well-used, such as Toney as pivotal role will free up Kane and Bellingham or even Foden, as the schedule is so tight, 8 days playing 2 matches
I think the main decision is, who would have the biggest impact against tired legs? I think that's Palmer. I can see Saka playing for 60mins and Palmer coming on to score in the last 10 minutes... Gorden really lifted the team in the last few minutes of the last match, hopefully he gets more time
The key to for England to win all their matches is being happy with one another. If you "hug" one another with your whole being, I guarantee you winning ways. When you see the truth, say it.
Jude played best for England coming from deep because Madrid played him higher suddenly he is a 10 for England. Madrid has a Kroos England doesn't. England don't produce players like Kroos Fernandinho Rodri Jorginho Busquets thats why they are imported into the Epl. England produces Dier Henderson Phillips Rice. Defenders in the midfield and until they have a player like that they will always struggle to win tournaments.
JUST IGNORE SOUTHGATES NEGATIVE TACTICS AND GO OUT AND PLAY. ALBANIA AND GEORGIA GO FORWARD AS SOON AS THEY GET THE BALL. THANKS TO SOUTHGATE ENGLAND GO SIDEWAYS AND BACKWARDS ALL DAY LONG. ITS NOT A COMPLICATED GAME, ITS A VERY VERY SIMPLE GAME.
England have had world renowned, successful club managers, who got the national team knocked out in the group stages of tournaments... If it was that easy, we'd be winning everything
@@randomdaveUK Yeah, we weren't playing absolutely turgid football though. And while people criticise Sven for rigidly playing 4-4-2 (me included) we at least played well in plenty of games. That isn't true of Southgate, and it's getting worse. You simply can't defend playing this midfield. While Mainoo made a difference, it's glaringly obvious we need pace on the left wing at the very least.
@@nickwoodward819 I disagree about the older eras. I was regularly nervous watching England against any similar ranked team. Would expect a stupid mistake, defensive frailty or something like that at any moment. Can't say I've been worried about England against anyone under Southgate, especially during the last Euros. Once we got through that penalty shootout against Columbia and their dirty tactics I think we turned a corner. Yes the group stage has been really poor but the same can be said for a lot of teams at this tournament, including France, Belgium, Italy who just got knocked out, are underperforming
Here's the obvious answer: You play him as an 8 where he's played almost his whole career and will play for Madrid next season, and then play Foden in the 10 where he's at his best as well. Right now they're playing Bellingham in his 2nd best position and doing the same with Foden, when obviously the answer is to play them both in their best positions.
It's finally coming home we have the easiest route to the final with piss easy teams yes I know our performance has been poor but we will step it up we have the best squad and depth
It's hilarious how all the pre-tournament banter has gone out the window - "you can't depend on a youngster like Mainoo...it's too much pressure to put the nations hopes on him.. if you bring him, use him as an impact sub..." England have played their best and looked most threatening with Mainoo, Palmer & Gordon...knockout football is about scoring goals, which they struggled to do in the first 3 games against lower ranked teams who no on expects to win this. Why they are not in the starting 11 is mind boggling!!!
Thing is this fits in our best players, but is very unbalanced. Rice isn’t really a ‘4,’ he’s at his best as a ‘6.’ Bellingham isn’t really a 6 either and is better as a 10 or 9 so to speak. Why shift those 2 around to accommodate Foden who can’t play anywhere but his preferred position? Ideally we have a very deep 4, but we really don’t, maybe Mainoo will occupy that deep position but tbh that’s not really his role either. Still don’t think shoving Bellingham deeper really helps though.
Play him up top with Kane in a 3-5-2. Kane needs help to stay up top, Bellingham was at his best for Madrid with his head and arriving late in the box (like Dele used to do for Spurs) and it allows Foden to move central in the midfield. Sorted.
Would be happy to see a 3-2-3-2 formation to get the most out the talent available….2 defensive midfielders (Rice and Manio)3 attacking midfielders ( Bellingham thru the middle,Saka/Palmer on the left and Foden/Gordon on the right)and two strikers(Kane and either Watkins or Bowen)sure it may be a risk with only 3 fullbacks but the players available do no support the wingback style of play and would be true defensive options
Put Bellingham back a bit controlling the middle behind Foden with Gordon and Palmer on the sides. He's not going to be the goal-machine for England but a all-rounder in that central midfield spot contributing at everything. Rice and Mainoo behind.
Bellingham is not natural No. 10, In RM, he played No. 10 because no better option there. England got few superb No. 10. Send Bellingham to play defensive midfield -- his long reach would be effective in stopping opponent.
We need more pace in the team so the midfielders have more space. Someone needs to be running in behind. If Gareth doesn't want to change the team then at least let Saka play higher up beyond Kane. Even push the fullbacks up more.
La Liga Player of the year and he's "still learning". He's just won the UCL at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Just stop. You weren't saying this sort of shit about Messi or Ronaldo or Zidane or Ronaldinho...
@@nannaa125 Believe it or not and I know this might be shocking to you but every person in the world was 20 once... Jude is class, the problem is not him - that's my point.
Any experimentation with formations, lineups and strategies at this point is just gambling. This should have been done in the qualifiers and friendlies. I can't believe that the first time GS tried Trent in midfield was at this euros when he's had him at his disposal since he got the job. He could have been getting accustomed to the role, we should be well-drilled in an effective strategy by now. He's got to change something, but he's out of time and apparently out of ideas. What an amateur.
In Ange's head - drop kane like I did. ok you lot won't get 100mill for him, but he's a curse on silverware. you can then put jude up front and play foden in his natural 10 position
How about getting Jude to get the best out of the rest of the team? My point is that, why are we looking at a single player? Shouldn't the mananger look to get the best out of the whole team playing, rather than putting everything into a single player?
You get the best out of Bellingham by playing very easy teams so he looks so good and people will then start saying he’s world class blah blah blah 😂😂 and absolutely disgusting taking Shaw and leaving fit young left footed players out
That side at 0:39 is too unbalanced for me with trippier & Foden on the left Foden just comes into Bellingham’s space way too much & stops him from playing where he’s effective & tripper hasn’t done anything wrong as such but he’s so predictable on the left side, steps inside & plays the simple 10 yard pass every time, never drives down the line to offer anything going forward, not even dummy runs to take out defenders for Foden & Bellingham to exploit I’d rather see Walker on the left who can get up & down & effect the game & Trent on the right Also if Bellingham is in the 10 then play someone who stays high & wide If you’re playing Foden, he has to be in the 10 because that’s where he spends all his time anyway Then you’re choosing between Mainoo & Bellingham next to rice Kane has to stay up top
Gareth is out of his depth. I’m still contending that he is the weakest link in this team. These pundits should put the fact that he was their mate aside and start thinking about England. It doesn’t matter that he is a “good guy or that you know him it should be more about can he perform Mistake after mistake 1. Didn’t carry a back up left back and the one he carried was injured 2. Left tried and tested left wingers in Rushford and Grealish even though the system HE chose needs one to be effective 3. Keeps playing players out of position with apparent no clear instructions 4. Stuck in certain mindset and refuses to shift from it . ( He is effectively stuck between his original mindset of carrying players that could get game time in his squad but hasn’t got the courage to use the ones in actually took along with him. ) Did you hear in an interview him saying that they “lost “ Phillips and Jordan Henderson what would you feel if you were Wharton and Mainoo. Why didn’t just stick with Phillips if that was still his instinct 5. His in game management is league two level. And that is an insult to at least the top 16 team managers in league two of which I apologise. 6. He has been extremely lucky in the tournaments that we have been involved in and any time we come against a team that would challenge us we have lost. Two world cups , Euro we should have won and a nations league. 7. This time round there is no cohesion in that camp and it shows in the football field. Players are shouting at each other and Foden and Bellingham it trying to be the main man regardless of what the other is doing. To the point that they are running into each others spaces constantly. Manager should sort this . 8. It’s obvious that he is or has began to lose the respect of the players I.e Ben White by the way I wonder what people like Chilwell , Colwill, Mitchell and seeing trippier getting in the team. Goodness me if he was struggling so much even Cresswell could do better that trippier . Besides he could have used Gomez who can actually cross with his left leg and has done successfully for Liverpool this season. Trippier has actually not had his best season. I could add more points but you tell me why these pundits are defending him Because he either played with them or hang out with them and it may actually make it slightly awkward in their social circles same as with Ole. If this was some foreign or someone they didn’t know personally they would have absolutely slaughtered them based on these performances. It all stemmed from the coach.
Is it not possible that these players have been broken, demoralised, disheartened through the poor quality of the coaching? When they play for their clubs they are World class. Is it coincidence that they are coached by world class managers like Guardiola, Ancelotti, Klopp? I think not. You can't seriously even put Southgate in the same sentence as these guys. Is it not nonsense therefore to talk about making changes in the team when the change that needs to be made is the manager?
I don’t understand why England don’t play a 4-3-3 with Foden as the 10, Rice/Bellingham behind, and Gordon on the left. He should’ve also taken Rashford and Grealish, stupid to not take them
@@roryanaughe5217 international football is a different beast. Maguire was awful for United but he’s England’s best CB and always performs for them, and we all know is form is temporary, plus you think it’s better to just play someone completely out of position instead of taking someone else?
PLAY HIM.AT CENTER BACK ... HE CAN BE ENGLANDS VIRGIL VAN... CONVERT HIM OR PLAY HIM AT CDM , RICE IN THE 8... RICE ONE QUALITY IS DRIVING WITH THE BALL... BELLINGHAM AT CENTER BACK ... ENGLAND THANK ME LATER.
Tell him to play for the team and do the basics better. Right now he's acting like a spoiled child. If he's not on the ball he's not interested. When he's on the ball he's giving it away cheaply. Show him the bench.
Its very inappropriate to have ange as a pundit, when he is an serving manager in a big leauge, shows that everything in football has commercialism at heart, spineless sport in terms of values.
