How do eye injections work? 

In wet AMD, a protein called vascular endothelial growth factor - or VEGF - is responsible for the development of abnormal blood vessels underneath the macula. Anti-VEGF medication can block the activity of this protein, stopping these new blood vessels from growing and leaking fluid.
