This video is very informative but i am worried that without such detailed explanation, many tasks are impossible to follow of our own, why such complexity? It should have been quite easy.
Hi great video but didn't fit perfectly...what if I want a ops process where i have to backup every 2 week and remove old AMI older than 2 weeks that's what real life use case which we are following in our company. Please guide me if SSM can do this. Thanks
Hi, Currently there is no in-built document which would deregister the AMI(cleaning up old backups as per your usecase.) However, you can build custom automation document which would deregister old AMIs and register that as second task under Maintenance window. I believe the below references would be helpful for you. You can use DeregisterImage API call and aws:executeAwsApi plugin to achieve the same. docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/APIReference/API_DeregisterImage.html docs.aws.amazon.com/systems-manager/latest/userguide/automation-aws-apis-calling.html
I'm sorry to hear that, Mohd. Can you please engage with the community on our re:Post forum and provide more info about your use case, here: go.aws/aws-repost. ^KS.
Sorry for any difficulties with this. First I recommend referring to the resource provided with the video, and following along with the details listed there: go.aws/41y7cI5. ⬅️ If the issue persists, please provide more info regarding this, and we'll be glad to pass along your concerns.
