I completed a 3-year dental hygienist course in Nepal and am currently studying for a Bachelor's in Health and Social Care in the UK. I am struggling to find a trainee dental nurse role here in the UK. Can anyone provide guidance or advice on how I can find a trainee dental nurse position? I would greatly appreciate any tips or recommendations!
Hi I have an interview Friday for a dental nurse trainee. I'm currently a experienced chef which they might find very strange but I'm looking for a new career path in which I can grow more and I would be taking a huge pay cut I'm hoping it's worth it if I can get the job. Any suggestions or help miss 😀
Hi @bahar1816. Thanks for your question! It really depends. Usually as a trainee dental nurse you are on minimum or near minimum wage. But as your career develops and you can gain skills and knowledge, your wage can increase loads. For instance if you build up specialist surgical skills or orthodontic knowledge, you may find that some dental practices will pay much more for your expertise dental nursing skills. I hope this is helpful!
Hi! Lots of dental professionals from other countries come to the UK and do our dental nursing course in order to work as a dental nurse in the UK. So yes, it is very doable. Hope that helps! 😊😊
Hi @ghazzawee9275. If you want to be a dental nurse in the UK you must enrol in a dental nursing course and work as a trainee dental nurse. You can also apply for a dental nursing apprenticeship. Those are the two routes to becoming a qualified dental nurse in the UK.
Hi @samiashams864, you will need to enrol onto a dental nursing course if you want to work as a trainee dental nurse. Once you have qualified you can register with the GDC as a qualified dental nurse. I hope that helps!
