What if I were to omit the high school entirely and only talk about my academics from college onwards

Do i have a better chance of admission if i apply on the 2nd deadline than the 3rd?

@@mustaphamustapha4363 I was in their info session and they specifically advised against applying in 3rd unless you rly have to. It’s a lot harder to get in for 3rd

Congratulations on your offer! Oxford's Financial Economics is one of the THE most competitive Master's in the world so that is a brilliant achievement. We are so happy that our tips might have helped you to achieve your goals. Well done!!!

Very generally speaking, there is a very very slight advantage in applying in the 2nd over the final (or first round). However, it is ALWAYS worth delaying your application into the next cycle rather than rushing your application. If those extra months give you time to get stronger references (possibly from scoring high grades in your first term final year modules), more work experience, take additional online courses, or just write a strong personal statement, do not rush to hit a 2nd round deadline and submit a sub-optimal application which undersells you. Good luck!

How do I approach the task of getting a post-master job offer pre-master, I thought that firms usually only give out post-internship offers for starting directly after

Great question! The majority of our candidates this year now have their postgraduate offers in from the likes of Cambridge, Oxford, MIT, LSE, LBS, Imperial, HEC, INSEAD, UCL and more! For those who do not have internships yet, some will leverage these brand names to try to secure and off-cycle internship (possibly virtually, or else outside of the UK or the 'Big 4/Magic 5 etc'). The trick is to add the postgraduate degree to the top of your CV as soon as you get the offer, and see if this helps you to open doors over summer. This is the sort of job applications consultancy that we provide at The Profs

Thank you for sharing the same, just a question, like I have a GPA of 8.2/10, will this make sense to apply in the program with this much gpa?

If you are trying to convert a 10CGPA to a US 4GPA then we have linked a conversion table below that might help. From this, we see 3.4/4.0 equivalency which is a low 2:1 in the UK. This would put you below the recommended minimum requirements for this course and would put you at a major disadvantage when applying. If you demonstrate brilliant work experience, a very strong GMAT Focus (695+), or other academics, and a great reference, you might be able to overcome this, but the rest of your application would need to be outstanding to compensate for the CGPA. The majority of other UK degrees would consider a 8.2, but Oxford's Financial Economics has one of the highest grade requirement in the world. Good luck! www.shiksha.com/studyabroad/how-to-convert-10-point-cgpa-to-4-point-gpa-articlepage-2259

how rigid is the gpa system. I have 7.8/10 as against their normal requirement of 8/10, and a gmat score of 750(100%ile in quant) with 2+ years of experience

There is some flexibility. You should emphasise your perfect grades in the GMAT quant score and Oxford would likely take this into consideration given it is so impressive. Good luck!
