Having listened to both for so many years: I sum it up like this: LeeAnn sings like a girl, Trisha sings like a woman. There’s no right or wrong, your choice is just you. Personally, I like the woman’s voice.
I have been signing this song to my husband every chance I had... He is on life support, I won't be bringing him home... He never answered the questions... How do I survive this?
I am convinced the body is not everything. He will be aound you as an invisible soul until you feel strong enough. It's my own experience but I want you to know. Silent Prayers
I didn't know that she sang the original. Now I know why it feels lacking whenever I listen to LeAnn Rimes version, not to mention who is equally talented. But the feels that the original version gave me during my elementary days, when I first heard it on the movie Con Air, was totally moving❤❤❤
The original is LeAnn Rimes it was recorded first and the version is quite pop while Trisha's version is recorded for the The Con-Air soundtrack and more on a country version. But both sounded great it just so happened that Trisha's version is matured that of LeAnn cause shes just 14 or 16 when she recorded the song first.
Love this song. Every time i listen to this, that lovely shot of Cameron Poe hugging his wife and daughter under the Vegas lights, at the end of the movie is instantly on my mind, hits me every time... 🥲
I am always torn between Trisha or LeAnne , but l got to give it to Trisha . The way she listens to the music as she sings and makes adjustments along the way to compensate for the band and its timing . She is a vocal master and l just love her tone . She is a true entertainer.
Tema me encanta aunque me trae muy malos momentos donde ejercí mi carrera pero sobre todo el amor es más fuerte, aunque perdi a camaradas en tiempos de paz.
I suppose the arrangement is more country, for years I was confused what people meant when they said this version is more country. For me, the vocals were always more dominant, so I always heard Leanne being more country with the yodels in her voice(which I know that Trisha has two, but they’re more dominant to meet with Leanne) and all that stuff. So, if I look past the vocal, I could see now why you would say Trishas version is more country.
To be fair to Trisha Yearwood, her voice is different and a different interpretation. Trisha reminds me of Barbara Dickson. Leanne Rimes was young and up and coming.
@wendylabonte9330 You tried it 😂😂😂 They both were given the song and only one won the Grammy! Trisha Yearwood. You know the one who could actually sing the song. 😂😂😂
Trisha won for one very important reason. Can you imagine being a grown ass woman and losing the Grammy to a teenager? LeAnns spent 89 weeks on the Billboard charts. And Trisha recorded hers after hearing LeAnns version.
Had to visit after just now in 2022 hearing about the Trisha Leanne debacle, and I can't even get through this crap after hearing Rimes's version... If I were Trisha I would have pretended I never even caught wind of the song than to rather feel like a fanned karaoke singer to Leanne Rimes every time I so-called performed it... Ouch...hurts me ...lol
@simplytine2939 your facts are backward. LeAnn covered it and the producers wanted an older voice. Trisha got a recording of LeAnns vocal on the track and copied it for the producers. LeAnns version spent 89 weeks on the Billboard charts. How long did Trishas version last?
Not sure how you can sing that song after stealing from LeAnn, but then you stole a husband from Sandy and you still appear in public....Sandy was loyal and supported Garth through the thin times of no money and then boom you swooped in with your supposed abgel wings and car r ied him away to your liars lair.....how DO you live????
