I can relate to your frustration. I use the following strategies to find reading time: 1. I combine some tasks ( cooking & washing dishes) Sometimes if there're too many dishes I just rinse them & place them in a storage container & only wash those I'll need fo breakfast for example. 2. I do some chores during study breaks such as dusting & emptying trash. 3. I have started to collect some cleaning gadgets like battery operated scrubbing brush. 4.I encourage everyone to use trays at home when snacking & especially when eating toasted sandwiches, this helps controls crumbs. 5. I use a phone stand instead of holding it with your hands while doing 'downtime' study activities such as downloading textbooks & organizing my files etc. 6.Its possible to do some tasks while watching TV such as folding & ironing laundry, cleaning the living area for example. 7.for cleaning larger surfaces shower/bathtub I use bigger rags like the whole backside of an old T-SHIRT to help cut cleaning time. 8. Some days I postpone some housework chores because they're endless, there's always something that needs to be done. 8.I break down tasks into manageable portions eg I prefer to wash curtains & windows separately not on the same day. 9.I premix for baking & batch chop & cook and freeze food so that I don't have to cook everyday. 10.The housework, life & studies balance has got better when I stopped trying hard to be perfect.
