@@Trill.Clipz.Channelnah, read the comment again. It says anybody my age or younger. There’s a survey showing that the average age of MLB fans in the US is 60 so objectively the sport is not in a healthy state at all. And let me remind you this is an open comment section where people can post their opinion so if you don’t like how “our” generation is doing then you have three choices. Ignore it, fight it, or accept it. Times change and you gotta adapt to the situation around you, it’s not that hard.

I'm Asian American and I support all Asian baseball players here. We don't have that many asians in pro sports so I wish them all nothing but the best. As another Asian American, I cannot agree more. Although we‘ve always been cognizant of other Asian cultures/communities (other than each of our immediate ones), I feel like our collective experience of violence and hate against AAPI during COVID really heightened our sense of community beyond individual relationships. We cried and raged against the mistreatment of all AAPI people and felt determined to watch out for each other. I remember talking to my friends from different AAPI communities of how we now look out for any Asian elderlies at grocery markets or other public places like they are all our family. I hate that we had to and still push through lingering AAPI hate, but I am so touched by our growing sense of unity, sympathy, and empathy for one another.

Reason why: Rise of military aggression from China. The lifting of japanese ban in Korea and korean media in japan in the early 2000s. Winter sonata was the first kdrama to be shown on NHK subbed and proved to be more popular in japan than korea. Kpop songs were covered by japanese singers before kpop was in japan. For example DJ ozma covered koyote. And kpop singers like yoonha and boa sang in japanese. Japanese media like anime and japanese electronics like Sony wasn't rare prior to 2000s but they were bought in blackmarkets. The 1997 asian financial crisis forced korea to open to more foreign imports, no longer under the old military dictatorship lead protectionist economy in Korea (yushin economic reforms of the 1960s). 2002 world cup hosted by japan and korea. Japan giving zainichi (japan born koreans) citizenship rights. Perhaps if the internet didn't exist, fewer koreans and japanese would visit neighboring countries. Japanese visiting other countries in January 2024: Korea 857k China 416k Taiwan 492k Usa 132k Korean citizens visiting other countries in 2022: Usa 801k Vietnam 567k Japan 556k

From an outsider's perspective, I've noticed a lot of hate and animosity in Korea against Japan during the years I've spent traveling and living there. Just mentioning "Japan" in passing has been enough to sort of flip a switch in some Koreans I've met, even worse if you happen to say something nice about Japan. I have even had Korean friends warn me about talking about Japan in a positive light in Korea because of this negative view that so many people still hold to this day. Most people I've met have been polite about it but you still notice that intense dislike towards Japan. I haven't seen the same in Japan, at least not to the same extent (and I've spent far more time here than I have in Korea). Sure, I don't know how different the sentiments are today compared to say 20 or 50 years ago, but I'd still say that there is a lot of hatred towards Japan in Korea. I agree that many Koreans love Japanese culture (perhaps particularly pop culture), but the hatred towards the country is still there. It saddens me, frankly. I like both countries a lot but that negativity really turns me off in regard to Korea. I'm especially reminded of a Korean man in his 20's I met a couple of years ago. He's half Japanese but his hatred towards Japan was so strong that he absolutely refused to see anything positive about his Japanese ancestry, including the Japanese side of his family. We started out as friends but our friendship quickly soured when we seemingly couldn't have a single conversation on any topic without him trying to make me hate Japan as much as he does. I'm sure there are plenty of Japanese who feel the same way towards Korea, but again, from personal experience, I've noticed it a lot more in Korea than I have in Japan. If Ohtani is able to turn it around and change people's attitudes, that would be great. However, I also think that Koreans are constantly being reminded of that animosity through their politicians and perhaps the older generations and unless that changes, I don't think the general attitudes towards Japan will change among Koreans either.. I still think they have a long way to go in that regard, honestly.

I'm super happy to see this. I moved to Korea in August 2019, and then in September the "NO Japan" movement was incredibly strong in Korea. My students had "NO Japan" stickers on their phones, people were boycotting Japanese brands, and anything that was linked to Japan. Although I did understand their reasoning, it was just sad to see as someone who has always loved Japanese culture. On a positive note, it was great to be able to go to Japan for so cheap at that time because everybody was boycotting the country. ^^

Koreans know how to seperate an individual athlete from the government. Koreans never target an individual person for their nationality being Japanese. Koreans did not publish one Anti-Japan book that's based on pure fabircation like Japan did. Koreans will always hold grudge and criticisms against the history revisionism by the Japanese government. And just because some Koreans like one Japanese athlete, it doesn't mean that Koreans would worship and admire the whole country of Japan. Koreans know how to disticnguish politics and history from individuals. In fact, Koreans were always open to Japan, as long as the presidents didn't visit Yasukuni shrine.. I don't know what people used to think, so I will write about the reasons why some Japanese are now feeling aversion to Korea. The self-sufficiency rate of Korean residents in Japan is 6.2%, which is by far the highest among foreigners (the self-sufficiency rate of Japanese is 1.6%). Many members of the Japanese yakuza are from Korea and have an image of criminals. Japanese stereotypes of Korea include very bad manners (especially among the elderly), excessive anti-Japanese sentiment (there are photos on the Internet of people burning and stomping on the Japanese flag), and frequent boycotts. There are several unresolved issues that are not the fault of the Japanese side, such as radar irradiation of the Self-Defense Forces and the non-return of Buddhist statues that were robbed by South Korean thieves. There is often a failure by South Korea to abide by the treaties and agreements signed between Japan and South Korea. The Japanese people are tired of major political changes every time the president changes. There are so many politicians who use anti-Japanese sentiment for political purposes (I believe there are politicians in Japan who use anti-Korean sentiment as well, but the number and scale are completely different). Incitement by some media (common in both countries). These are the opinions of politically neutral Japanese. But most Japanese are not interested in politics and do not know or care about these things. If you want to know Japanese people's opinion about the history of Japan and Korea, please let me know so that I can write my personal opinion.

@sara.cbc92
@sara.cbc92 Месяц назад
Lol, Koreans often like to lie and claim the cultures, histories and even genetics of other nations. Anthropological, archeological, eugenics and linguistics evidence to debunk Koreans' claims on Japanese genetics, language and culture. 1) Eugenics - The latest genetic research published in Smithsonian concluded that most modern Japanese (Kofun) originated from Yangtze basin, China while they are not determined Han Chinese. This accounts for more than 70% of modern Japanese people. The rest are relegated to Yayoi, Jomon, Ainus, Ryukuans and the inevitable mix of these varying genetics. It's crucial to add that the Yayoi are not Koreans despite the persistent claims by the Koreans. They are a proto mongoloid group that traversed to Japan via the Korean peninsula, and related to Japanese as they are to the Han Chinese (Trivia: famous Japanese actress Yuki Amami traced her lineage to Tibetans again cementing Japanese origins to the Yangtze basin. A documentary by NHK also supports this). Genome analysis research conducted by Associate Professor Jun Ohashi at the University of Tokyo. ”研究室の扉「DNAを縄文時代まで遡る」大橋順准教授” further debunks Korean claims of Japanese genealogy. Japanese pirates who raided Korean coasts are recorded numerous times to be ethnic Han Chinese. Rice DNA destroys Korean migration theory with Kyushu rice DNA matching those of Yangtze, China. The Korean peninsula is a mountainous terrain which isn't ideal for growing crops or rice. The technology of rice irrigation itself came from Yangtze river which further cements the theory of Japanese-China origins. This is based on DNA sampling of rice in Japan that is traced back to China. The earliest female ruler of Wa (Japan) Queen Himiko met official envoys from China and spoke nothing of Korea or Koreans. Japanese people existed before the Yamato clans. Japanese carry far greater Ydna (O3) than Koreans even though Koreans carry a large amount as well due to Han Chinese. Haploid 2b are given South Korean through Japanese excursions, diplomatic marriages, frequent raids from Xiongnu, Xiangbein (Mongolic) and Jurchen (Manchu) raids upon Korean territories. This is why North Koreans have almost no 2b. Koreans lacked naval abilities, navigation and sea warfare, therefore none of the Korean states dared to live close to the shores and Silla was almost completely destroyed by frequent raids from Japan. Han Chinese commandaries existed everywhere on the peninsula and even the modern day capital Seoul (City of Han) named after the Han Chinese as well as it's flag designed by a Chinese official based on Yin Yang, Bagua, I-Ching and Taoist philosophy. Koreans are closely related to the Evenki. They also share the same practice of worshipping Totem poles which doesn't exist in Japan. Phenotype wise, Koreans have extremely thin small eyes, straight hair, big bodies, wide jaw, flat face, high cheekbones while Japanese have almond to big eyes, more refined hair, longer face, slender body, dental protusion/misalignment, bowed legs. The 2 couldn't be more different. While there are some Japanese that may look Korean, one could argue the same with some Koreans looking Chinese. There's also the migration of Zainichi Koreans after the war who accounts for Korean genes detected in the Japanese populace. 2) Archeology/Artifacts - Jared Diamond argued that Japan had historical relics similiar to that of Korea which led to his absurd conclusion Japanese thus originated from Korea. This couldn't be further from the truth. In a Korean documentary, Jared refers to the bronze mirror called Shinjū-kyō (神獣鏡, "deity and beast mirror") which is an ancient round bronze mirror decorated with images of gods and animals from Chinese mythology. The shinjū-kyō style of bronze mirror originated from the Chinese magic mirrors and was frequently produced during the Han dynasty, Three Kingdoms, and Six Dynasties (1st-6th centuries CE). Therefore we can deduce that Koreans also copied this from the Chinese, and Japanese could be from China or learnt the techniques directly from China. 3) Linguistics - Koreans often claim Korean and Japanese are in the same Altaic category of languages. However this is a huge fallacy. Japanese language is uniquely Japonic and Korean is a Tungus/Altaic language similiar to Evenki. Koreans would argue from the point of Korean and Japanese sharing a similar grammar. English and Chinese also share the same grammar, it doesn't make them the same. The Altaic hypothesis has also been debunked by historical linguists Alexander Vovin and Toh Soo Hee. Other than grammar, the 2 languages are not related due to a lack of cognates other than loanwords (Onyomi, Kanji + Hanja pronunciation) which are both borrowed from the Chinese language. Infact the Korean language is strongly influenced by Dravidian languages like Tamil besides Chinese. Hundreds of words, basic Nouns and pronouns like Appa (father) and Ama (mother) are exactly the same in Korean and Tamil. This is completely different from Japanese. A Korean King Suro of Gaya also married an Indian woman, Heo Hwang-ok, also known as Suriratna. The Indian connection can't be understated. 4) Education - Education or to be precise, the complete lack of it is another factor as to why Koreans believe their nonsensical claims of Japanese DNA. Koreans suffer from a huge inferiority complex towards the Japanese having been subjugated by Japan as a colony for decades. Hence, post war education was full of false anti Japanese propaganda. The Korean government took a page from Imperial Japan and promoted the propaganda of a superior, pure Korean blood and race. By claiming to be the progenitors of Japanese, they can offset the shame of being a defeated, colonized people. The propaganda was taught in middle school up till the 90s then through word of mouth by parents and the elderly. Korean education system also deliberately omit many Sino/Chinese influences on Korean civilization and culture along with banning Hanja (Chinese characters). This has spawned generations of Koreans claiming various Chinese history, cultures, inventions and arts. Again this stems from the inferiority complex of being a vassal state of China for centuries.

When asked about his first visit to korea, he said it smelled like garlic. Chan ho park was the first korean to ever played in the MLB. He was a huge star in korea in the mid 1990s. He was teammates in the dodgers with another pitcher hideo nomo. Park (#61) saw nomo (#16) as competition since they were both pitchers, so park said he avoided contact with nomo at first. But they learned to respect eachother. Perhaps park was the first korean to be in a situation where in an international team, how to play with a japanese especially back when japanese media was banned in korea. A shocking news to Koreans, the Imperial Tokyo regime after the Meiji Rebellion in 1868 in reality has nothing to do with Yamato and, of course, nothing to do with Ryukyu as well. and it's the imperial Baekje regime. the Choshu clan which established the Imperial Tokyo regime is the descendant of the Baekje emperor, which was ruined by Shilla and Korea in ancient. The succesor of Baekje the Choshu clan wanted to revive the Baekje empire ruined in ancient. If you claim the southern part of the Korean peninsula, Jeollanamdo as Korea, then Baekje is morally Korea, so you are fighting with your own Koreans. We Yamato view Tokyo as Korea, sort of East Korea. I don't know where Otani is from yet as far as he belongs to Tokyo and doesn't belong to Osaka or Yamato, he is morally a Korean. 😢
