I was really surprised by how well they did. I'm starting to understand that the sooner you can get them in the ground, the better off you are. Trying this gives me a little more confidence about planting them early. Let me know what you think. Thanks for watching.

We left all our onions outside, ~ 200 of them and some leeks, we harvested them about a week ago, they did well to lowest ~ -10 degrese Celzius

That's great, I did some checking, and -10°C is about 14°F so I find it amazing that they can withstand the cold that well. Thanks for the good information, and thanks for watching.

Man I have onions sprout on me in the fridge. I think they like the cold just fine. I plan on testing some over winter this year. I'm near Charlotte NC and about the coldest we get is sometimes around 13-15 degees. Although every so often we will get a single digit night. I could always cover with a frost blanket to help keep some warmth in.

From what you've said and the other person's comment, maybe I should have planted them sooner. I don't try to hide that I'm kind of new to growing onions, so comments like yours really help. Thanks for sharing.
