I just got my license in the state of CT and I have not chosen a brokerage yet. I went to interview with one brokerage and they were offering a 50/50 commission split and said they offered 7% commission. They claimed they get you leads and have a very good training program. Is this a good deal for a new agent? And it is a smaller brokerage with only two local offices and roughly 50 agents between the two offices. I am going to meet with several more brokerages in the coming weeks. In researching on the internet, I started seeing better commission splits like 60/40 and 70/30 and even 80/20 or 100% commission but I am guessing those do not get you leads and/or have very good training programs. It is all very confusing for someone just starting out.
