Really good video, I was particularly surprised to find that the Basal metabolic rate accounted for such a high percentage of daily energy expenditure. I think most people, including myself, always figured that both exercise and the thermic effect of food would account for a majority of the day's energy expenditure. I'm curious, for a semi-pro/pro athlete, would this workout-induced energy expenditure percentage still apply? It seems like their daily energy expenditure would account for much more on top of a high basal metabolic rate with higher NEAT rates as well so it could just be relative. I'm assuming this is why they need to consume so many more calories due to higher expenditure across the board?

Yes, these figures are probably more related to a fairly sedentary lifestyle. More NEAT/physical activity will certainly increase energy expenditure in the case of an athlete 👍

hi what if a trainee is eating way less than he/she supposed to. will that be help them in losing weight in the form of fat of the body will maintain the fat and reduce their muscle mass only ?? thank you

Yes you will certainly lose fat at a faster rate but are also at an increased risk of muscle loss 👍
