episode 007: brawlhalla viewer coaching, today we're focusing on gold players to see what the average player struggles with, this ragnir player mentioned they struggled against aggression, so I tried to bait them out using a couple different techniques to see what they could improve on!
i host these periodically on twitch with announcements for when they start posted on twitter and in the discord server. viewers are randomly selected via a bot to come on stream and play a best of 5 set to analyze their play and hopefully point out some of the general habits that may be holding them back from ranking up in brawlhalla. it's educationally driven, so please don't flame anyone that comes on stream (and don't even if it wasn't!)

the brawlhalla terms are very programmy. Strings are words, floats are numbers with many decimal numbers (like 7 or so), etc.

Notes I took: 1. Bait out attacks or interrupt them. 2. Break opponents' safe zone. 3. Delay or speed up attacks. 4. Use unreactable options when people are floating above you. 5. Dash away or through attacks when floaty opponents try to approach you.

One thing that would be nice is a small replay where you play versus an enemy on ladder that uses a tactic like this, doesn't have to be with commentary, small floating text might be enough. Because I hear what you say, but it's a bit hard to visualize how to beat them.

I get punished a lot when trying to follow up on glitched hits (When you hit & it shows damage but doesn't actually apply.) I thought they'd fix it, but now i'm not sure if that's just a feature.

AHHHH, I hate hearing the hit noise and then seeing the enemy just go through it. the most annoying thing that catches me off-guard.

that's a rollback, it's because the hit didn't actually land but due to latency the servers think it does for a frame or two (and then corrects to the reality immediately after)

im a gold so i can't help much,but i think i can help a little bit?remember that you need always to play neutral,if you wish to get to diamon you should try to learn your oponent play style quickly,don't be too agressive before you learn it,don't miss attacks too,don't dash when you don't need to do it,and you need to constantly change play styles,thats all i know,if you already do all that and can't get to diamond,i can't help,i don't know how plats or diamonds play so im not talking as someone that have experience with them,i wish you good luck on your journey to diamond
