🔥$100K PLO Playbook: 3-Day Event (starts Nov 20): plomastermind....
Here's a play and explain of me, moving down to 25plo on PokerStars to show you guys how to best approach these micro and small stakes poker cash games in order to win and move up fast!
2:14 - Consider the rake - it is your biggest enemy
2:40 - Play less hands facing raises and the big blind
3:05 - Don't fall into the pot odds trap!
3:55 - Don't limp from the small blind in high rake environments
4:30 - Raise tighter when limpers are involved
5:50 - Play straightforward in multiway pots
8:50 - Pay attention to bet sizing tells from recreational players
13:00 - Don't overvalue low or medium rundowns in multiway pots
21:30 - Put your ego aside. Accept you have to overcome the rake too.
23:25 - In multiway pots, ask yourself "can I make the nuts"?
23:50 - Don't Limp!
24:10 - Have high standards for betting or continuing postflop in multiway pots

What are your biggest struggles with lower stakes PLO games?
@Filippirgos
@Filippirgos 6 лет назад
JNandezPoker I had a 6 months break from on-line poker and PLO, started last week on 10 zoom, and I am imidiatelly a winner, didn't expect that 😀 Watching your GTO videos kept me in shape I guess ! Biggest struggle, rakeback lower than ever, which site has the best rakeback, is it Party poker ?
@madwithoutit
@madwithoutit 6 лет назад
I have played all stakes of zoom plo on stars from 500 zoom to 10/25 cent. I think the biggest difference as you move up the stakes is how important blockers become. at the low stakes with blockers you shouldn't use them as much as peoples calling ranges are so light regardless. higher stakes and more thinking players are easier to play against with blockers. what would you say your bankroll should be to play zoom 0.50/$1 ?? if your running an aggressive bankroll strategy
@JNandez87
@JNandez87 6 лет назад
Party is certainly better than Stars at the moment, in terms of Rakeback. Where do you play? How many hands have you played so far since you are back?
@JNandez87
@JNandez87 6 лет назад
Bankroll Management depends on your winrate and stack size you play. At 100bb stack size with a winrate of 5bb+ I would recommend a 80-100 buy-in bankroll. At 50bb with the same winrate a 50 buy-in bankroll. With lower winrates you should be conservative, use 150buy-ins and work on your game, more than anything else.

Thanks, this video was very useful. I’ve begun to play PLO again only recently and had to start again from the micros. I still remember the fundamentals of playing tight against the rake and my impression of regular tables was exactly like what you said. People don’t care about how much they lose from the rake, so they open limp and vpip a lot with bad hands, like unsuited Axxx or low cards, they refuse to click fold to a squeeze. On the other end of the spectrum, good hands like AKT9ds for example don’t raise either. But the principle of moving our opening range back by one position for each limper before action comes to us is something that I haven’t realized until now so I will keep that in mind from now on.

I know that this video is five years old, but I started to play in PLO5 a few days ago, had the bankroll for PLO10 but I want some experience before, and your your videos are so important for a little player like me. My real problem in low stakes remains my isolations vs multiple limpers. I know I have to be tight, not always easy. I should probably work more my ranges. Thanks for your videos, can't wait to see more.

@RichardRennes
@RichardRennes 4 года назад
He`s not getting the correct odds to draw to a full house, and the other player could have top 2 or top set with a straight already, giving even less outs to win with, or possibly drawing dead to a 1 outer. Plus, if all his full house outs are actually live, and the river pairs, he would not get any more money from the other player on the river, so his implied odds are zero.

I seem to have issues with people that have no idea when they are supposed to fold. Right now I can't beat the rake due to bankroll issues (playing micro stakes)...but it just seems I get one or two outed WAY too much. I think I am pretty capable of deciding on what starting hands to raise and re-raise with pre, but just seem to get unlucky way too often. Frustrating more than anything, as I know that the luck factor will not stay with people long-term. That said, how do you deal with people that just raise every hand at those levels?
@KevinSmith-vz7xh
@KevinSmith-vz7xh 6 лет назад
I do play a patient game and usually get rewarded when I do. It's the times that all the money goes in and I have a 93% hand and they suck out. I know the starting hands and what to do after the flop, turn and river. Its just frustrating playing so well for a time span then just getting it sucked out on you by someone that has one out to win. I know the response will be "that's the kind of players you want" but it still maddens me to no end. You think maybe playing a little higher will help this? The only place I can really play right now is ACR and Ignition....sometimes they seem so rigged....
@KevinSmith-vz7xh
@KevinSmith-vz7xh 6 лет назад
I appreciate your comments. I always play with the thoughts that online I am against the odds...but usually (say 80% of the time) play my hands correctly. Getting it in ahead, betting for value when I hit a hand....and I study as well (upswing poker). I feel like I am learning and getting what experience I can.

@jnandezpoker We shouldn't adjust RFI too much for lower stakes, right? We should adjust our cold-calling, and blind defense heavily but if we're RFI then the ranges don't change all too much? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have problems with three betting out of position. Usually the flop misses me and I have 1-2 callers. If I check someone else invariably bets and I have to release. If I cbet, there is usually at least 1 caller and I end up having to check/fold the turn. Would I be giving up much if I never 3bet from OOP? Also is there a calling range OOP? If I find myself check folding a lot in general, could that be a sign of a leak? I play PLO 25 and many of the regular opponents are tight (VPIP in the 20's), my VPIP is 32 PFR 20

I have been playing PLO SNG, How we will adjust to the ICM of SNGs in PLO? Or is this a bad idea? Even if it is, i would like to know how you would TRY to overcome this? Just seems too complicated, i've been doing pretty well over 6k sngs just guessing and trying to play as good as possible (i think the opponents are mainly fish at PLO tbh, maybe 1 or 2 okay-ish players per game) and i can tell that no one really seems to know what they're doing when it comes to ICM in these games, they are either just folding whenever they can cash in the fifty50, or they call far too often, and none of them seem to be piling on the pressure on the bubble like i am? Can't find any info on these ANYWHERE, I know its kind of a weird game to ask advice on, but if you got time at some point, it'd be greatly appreciated! :) thanks for all the content dude, you're awesome!

2:14 that has nothing to do with rake. You only lose money to rake when you win a hand and even then you win money, the pot won't be negative or less than what you put into it. You may lose moneyif you're playing too loose, but it's not because of rake. Contributing to rake is not money lost to rake (unless you go far enough to consider "money disappeared from the table so i can't win it now" an issue).

"They are afraid of getting outdrawn" Yup That explains me. The reason why is that 80% of the hands I have lost are because I've slow played and gotten drawn out on. Frustrating at low stakes. As a matter of facts, right NOW my set of 2s got drawn out by a shitty backdoor straight in PLO. He had nothing but a fucking low pair on the flop. THIS is why I bet big all the time!!! Single-suited unpaired hands play much worse in 3-bet pots than most people think. The goal of the 3-bet pot is to flop smooth, which means to connect to as many boards as possible, single suited hands do a poor job achieving this goal. Stick to double-suited connected hands such as JT97 as well as Aces, when it comes to 3-betting.
@Nash9r

Thanks for the replies. Makes sense. I love these rundowns though. Because if you flop really good, you can have 60 or more % against the stack off ranges of your opponents with 2 pair or so.

This is a really good video. If you had a curriculum for the mastermind, I would interested in it for sure. I live in US and play mainly 50PLO and 100PLO on Global and Bovada and this would benefit me greatly. Thanks.
