Mine is the TE OP leader like yours, however my brother recently got Magic Square for his birthday, I’ve messed around with both and you’re not really missing out with either, both are good on their own ways

I never had a true Prime figure. I’d like to have one one day, but in the meantime… I LOvE your saturation of editing! For my Optimus Prime figures, i still have my re issue from toys r us that came out around 2009 i think and my MP01 masterpiece which i still prefer and of course the alternator and the siege version
I also have that very same Optimus Prime Reissue (Encore) packed away somewhere! I'd say every Transformers fan should have at least one Optimus Prime in their collection, even it's a small cheap legion class figure. He's the main hero of the franchise. But if a person just wants one or two Transformers that they like the look of, and neither are Optimus Prime, that's fine also; because honestly, there's way more exciting alt-modes out there compared to a red truck. EDIT: Oh shoot! That's the Missing Link figure shown at the start! Sorry. I mistook it for the Encore Reissue. The boxes look pretty similar.

I hope to get an Earthrise Optimus at some point which should be simple thanks to the reissue 2 of my favorites are the SS Rise Of The Beasts Optimus Prime and the SS War For Cybertron Optimus Prime. Yeah I figured if I put either "prime" or "optimus" in my description it would be a dead giveaway so I had to get a little bit more creative 😅 Haven't owned either of the Primes you mentioned but I've heard great things about them. I'm more of the g1 collector so for me it's Earthrise Optimus Prime and the MPs :)
I remember one of my cousins had the deluxe DOTM Prime which clearly I did not know how to transform, that was kind of like my first time messing with a figure of that character.
My first Prime was from the 20th anniversary of the 86 movie, and I got him just to play with him. I still have him, but he's missing parts and his head. I just found a masterpiece online, and if he's still there in 5 weeks, I'm getting him. Now, does every collection need a Prime, probably not depends on the person (they are weird if they don't want him) great video hoss take it easy
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelfI'm not sure, it's mostly diecast and unfortunately I was drinking way to much back then and the one I'm wanting MP-44S if I can't find anything from my local shops I order off Big Bad Toy Store and if I get another long job I may break down and get the Robosen but that one may end up as my wife's. She'll let me play with it

I have recently purchased the missing link prime. I haven't opened him yet but looks like it will be soon. So many great reviews on him. I also recently purchased an authentic 1984 boxed optimus prime that is now a favorite since he is an original release. The other favorite in my collection is the takara release MP-01 optimus prime.
Nice on the authentic boxed prime! Hope it didn't cost you an arm and a leg! As for Missing Link...this toy is special. It also took me awhile to get around to opening it since it didn't seem like a big deal...but that toy is pur nostalgia magic. Sort of like when Mp01 came out..but in a different way :)
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf As the time of choosing in your vid, TE was the clear winner. However, with the release of the revised MS version (light of peace) it's hard to decide! Both have very nice flat truck beds in vehicle mode (I'm keen on realistic vehicle modes!) and have minimal fake vehicle parts in robot mode (something which I dislike seeing in many modern transformers). Agh, the burden of choice!!! 😁

I found two of the Hasbro reissues of MP01 Prime on clearance for about $25-30! I still have them buried in storage unit somewhere. Ought to dig them out and see what they're worrh someday...
MP collecting seems fun, I’ve handled a few MP figures but with their larger sizes and higher price points it’a unfortunately not a viable option for me so I opt with main line stuff like studio series
@PaperJody totally understandable. Mp is best for those who love to display. Not so much transform. And mainline retail had made so many positive strides these past few years that it's really fun to collect :)

I never owned G1Prime. I did have G1 Megatron. My neighbor had Prime. We would share our toys but he would never share Prime. I called home the other day and he still has his original.
None right now. I’m just getting back into collecting. I have the Haslab Omega Prime ordered. I back it with the intent on selling for a profit. But the more I looked at I knew that wouldn’t happen. So I made the decision that I would only collect the updated issues of 2001 TF: RID. Along with Omega Prime I have the New Sideburn on order. I’m currently looking for reasonably priced Velcotron Scourge. I thought only fitting to use a mishmash of differently lines since that is how the series was made.
@cdl001 nice It does seem like Hasbro is finally giving some modern love to RiD and unicron trilogy. Which is great for its fans...I'm a little older so I wasn't into collecting when they were out. But they do look cool!
I most definitely grew up on G1 and the cartoon. But I’ve alway been weird about the things I like. 2001 TF: RID is kind of forgotten. It is not G1 or Unicron trilogy but it is important in Transformer history. It kept the line going between Beast Machines and The Unicron Trilogy
@@cdl001 yup I remember it being a big deal when it was announced...like a back to basics robots transforming into vehicles again after years of Beast Wars. But for some reason I never got into it.
I have Missing-link Prime, and it is the only Prime I need... It was the one thing I always said Hasbro/Takara should have done for decades... Make G1 articulated.

@Sturmvapor YES! how they would pull off the arms and the parts forming hands would be interesting. I LOVE Seekers. Thundercracker is my favorite but by association m a fan of Skywarp and Starscream. I have my own special seeker collection. Any version of those three I can get my hands on I get :)

It is my belief that a collection is never truly complete if it only has one optimus. Stick to the definitive versions of everyone else, but the franchise makes so many primes that youre missing out if you only get the best one. My other belief is that you cant have a definitive optimus prime, partially for the same reason lightbulbs can't last longer than a certain period of time, but also because there are so many different people with different ideas on what a perfect prime should be that you cant have one toy that does it all.
I can somewhat agree with you on that. There are so many options for Prime that it would be quite difficult to just stick to one...unless you're just a casual collector...ornhate Prime 😅
@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf I mean I feel like a casual collector wouldn't be the kind of person who is trying to have a "complete" collection. And I'm pretty sure there are no more than 5 real human beings who genuinely hate prime who ever have or will existed. Maybe a specific version of prime, but not the whole idea of him.

Aside from admiring certain collectors with "hundreds" of Primes in their collection, a pert of me wonders if it's kind of overkil. But listening to your thoughts on the matter does give a new perspective on it. 👍👍👍
I'm trying to restart my collection by switching to masterpiece scale and have been trying to get my hands on a magic square light of peace for months now. I finally got the eBay message saying it shipped so hopefully it goes through

@@StoriesFromTheToyshelf to clarify I sold off my CHUG collection 😅 At the time uhhhh earthrise Optimus didn't release (and as of this comment SS86 hasn't either, for anyone reading later) I did get the party wallop but he's being displayed with my ninja turtles. I'm gonna look for other masterpiece/third party things, like Megatron, bumblebee, or favorites, I just want to restart with the GOAT (Honestly I play with my display stuff lmao)
