What I noticed Westbrook like to do on KD is guard him hard on his shooting hand and when he jumps up to shoot, try to block the pull back and not the release.
Most players that defend KD well do that and bothering his dribble is the second most effective way to get KD to miss because he rushes or shoots unbalanced If you want to make kd miss you work before he rises up.
there really isnt a gameplan, you gotta have someone tall, quick, who can be on him like white on rice and even then you gotta accept hes still pronably droping 26 on you
@@goldensperm7182 that's a lie, KD shot 52,41 and 86 shooting splits in the regular season and shot 55,42,81 shooting splits in the 4 games against wolves both while averaging 27, the only two bad playoff series KD's had in his was against the celtics in 2022 , where he averaged 26,6 and 6 on 39%, and the other against grizzlies where he shot subpar for his standards averaging 25, the one against miami though, he dominated as a 22yr old averaging 31,6 and 2 on 55,39 and 83 shooting splits
Get underneath him and crowd his space on every shot. This is according to Chris Paul and Tony Allen, two shorter defenders who guarded him as well as anybody could in his prime. He's approaching 30,000 pts tho, so that's when you stop thinking somebody's going to figure out how to stop him. There is no D for a guy who can pull up from anywhere who is 6'11.
Right. The short answer is you can't. A 6'11" tall player who can handle like a guard and shoot over Damm near anyone , from any point 3 steps over the halfcourt line and can get to the rim. It must be a nightmare trying to stick him. You can only make him work hard. Joe Dumars talked about stcking Jordan. He said if he got 30 on 20 shots that was bad D. But if he got his 30 on 30 shots. That was a good night. Kobe, Jordan, LeBron and many others. You can't stop these dudes. They are going to score. Accept it for the reality it is and make them work for thier food.
I said the same thing lol like WHO is the defense dude 😂 he always get cook 😂 he must be a son that his a parent that works in the nba but not a basketball player......his parent must be behinds the desk in the office ROOM 💯🎯
A quick slightly taller defender can guard him by not letting comfortably get to the spots he likes to shoot from and still actually challenge the shot.
Yeah, only thing is that guy doesn't exist. Can't think of one 7 footer, Durant is listed at 6'11", but a lot of people think he's actually 7 feet. Who can guard Durant in space.
@@KingSausage74 Guys like those don’t grow on trees. Believe me, as a Cavs fan, I wish they did. We’ve literally had a hole at wing since LBJ left… again.
With guys like KD and Kobe you need to break there rhythm. They do everything a million times, that there movements become predictable. Of course, all that means is you might hold them to 40 points instead of 60.
Kawhi didn't do much to kd when KD had his quickness and ability to beat you off the dribble. The guys that I have seen bother KD have been guys with low center of gravity, quick, great hands. Those players don't try to block KD but bother his dribble and slap at his gather point when he shoots.
dam....😊 during toytime playtime I look better the some pros😊 I said some.......I'm jus proud of me thas all😊 thumbs 👍 to mlln dllr athletes.....all of em
Ok. Thats nice and all but...the best player is the league is nikola jokic....which means hes better than your hero KD. Nikola jokic wouldnt be any better than a yao ming in the 90s and 2000s. Reality is your heroes like steph, kd, and lebron are just excelling in a week era. Any real defense would bother them...forget hand checking.
@@jaymoney3134these people will tell you he's been locked up in every series since Boston. He's literally averaging like 29 on 51% since then and they still will tell you he's been struggling
You don’t have to worry about guarding Durant. As long as he’s the “alpha” on his team, he’ll lead them to getting swept in the first round 🫡 Don’t even mention this dude in the same conversation as jordan or kobe. Those mf’s strived to win at literally any and all costs. It was beyond evident. They were killers, hunters. Soft fools like durant are their prey.
He definitely is great, but if we're being honest no one really cares. The only rings he has are the Golden State rings, if he's so great how come he's never won anything else? This season they're out 0-4 in the first round, and you say he's still cooking? Perhaps he likes to cook at home, but not in the playoffs.
KD foe sure I'd top 10 all time for me. His only major flaw was he was never really able to develop elite playmaker skills. Imagine KD controlling the offense like Luka does. He would be a better magic Johnson
@@felipez3115naw But i would crowd his space and make him dribble over me or go all the way to get past me like he does here. He would have to do runaway dribbles
@@felipez3115also you deny the entry pass and make him work before he gets it. You can stop him from getting it just denying the ball. They gotta set screens now
@@mateusz4419 Wtf does it matter, you're putting him to guard KD just like the kid in the video? He's supposed to dominate. Now talk about 0-4 out in the first round this year lol.
