In August 2016, Diego Piacentini dives into a new challenge: working pro-bono for the Italian government for two years, aiming to help it with the digital transformation of the country’s Public Administration. He is currently on leave from Amazon.com, where he has worked for 16 years in Seattle as Vice President of the International Consumer Business. Early in his career, after having graduated from Bocconi University in 1987, he was hired by Apple Computer Italia where, ten years later, he became General Manager and Vice President of Apple Europe. Diego is in the Maasai Association’s council, which fosters education and health initiatives in Kenya, and is also an investor of the Unitus Seed Fund, an India-based investment fund which supports innovative start-ups for underprivileged masses. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
