That one actually made me proud to be Murican. We've made such a safe country for the indoctrinated youths of Murica that even idiots like her can survive past the age of 18. I'm sure it took a while to figure out that whole how to breathe thing and yet here she is. Good for us. We've made something truly great.
@Fisher Man Hey there. I understand how frustrating it is to listen to these answers. However, accusing someone of being an idiot is not redemptive, but just turns people off. There are many people out there who are very smart, but who, through the educational system, and lack of parental instruction, have been inculcated into believing a lot of lies about the history and reality of our country. Those are the ones we need to reach, not provoke into becoming even more closed to the truth. This is incidentally, a Biblical truth (Ephesians 6:4). One of Denis Prager's consistent mottos is "I don't strive to win a debate, I strive to clarify". Will Witt did a service to his audience by clarifying, and as a result some of them went away more willing to think through their misconceptions. That is a much more effective strategy then putting people down automatically because of a particular answer. It's often born simply out of ignorance, which most if not all of people have been guilty of at one time or another, and certainly does not make them an idiot.
Giles Baron I would like it if you would change your language so that it's more accurate to the reality of the situation because those people are not being "taught" they're being indoctrinated. There is no thinking that's occurring. Just blind acceptance to whatever ideology the indoctronator espouses.
Is she saying that all those people who were shot (Columbine, Parkland, movie theater in Aurora CO, and the church in Texas, Wal-Mart in El Paso) were not nice people? Maybe we should be thanking the shooter for ridding our society of all these not nice people. SMH

Guys, watching this video and comments from Europe seems totally crazy: you just have to look at any other developped country in the world to see that if you do not have free access to automatic rifles, then you do not have mass shooting. But since some people benefit from the guns industry they are trying to imagine any option to avoid hindering their profits...
"I'm pretty sure you can be 14 and walk in and just buy a gun" "He could have shot him in the leg to disable him" "I'm not worried I'm a nice person" 3 of the dumbest things I have ever heard and I have a 5 year old son.

But even if you can't walk, your hands work just fine to keep shooting, so that's still a problem she didn't account for Edit: for all the replies I'm getting about this. No, shooting someone in the leg is not a viable strategy for the majority of people, simply because it's harder to do than just shooting for the chest which is a much bigger target. It's not impossible to shoot someone in the leg, it's just much harder for most people that aren't used to shooting a small moving target
@TheSandsofFlowingTime anyone who thinks "shooting someone in the leg" is a realistic solution to a deadly threat encounter has never handled a gun before or doesn't understand how to properly handle one. They have no clue that there are hundreds of thousands of Americans walking around in public everyday and they are carrying and they don't harm anyone just because they have a gun. "I don't believe people can be trusted with guns", literally millions of Americans CAN be trusted with them and statics prove that. The rate of shootings is so low when compared the number of privately owned guns.
@Melissa Bowers I live in what might be considered a ghetto on the west side of Chicago. I hear gunfire frequently and hardly ever hear sirens afterwards, unless it's an ambulance.
So true, it is estimated that it takes the police 10-15 min. to answer an emergency call. Think about what could happen in that time. Best to arm yourself, better to be tried by 12 instead of carried by 6.
I’ve carried a gun for 30 years. Frankly it’s a pain. It’s uncomfortable, I can’t wear the clothes I want, and puts me at greater personal and legal risk. But I still do it. And these idiots will be glad I have it if we’re in the same area and a bad guy starts misbehaving.

i dont know why these people still make that argument. we have 425m guns in the USA. we are a bit past the point of no guns... guns will never go away in the USA. criminals will always have them even if they were all banned today.

I like your story better than mine. When I was in 4th grade, I had to ride the high school bus. My dad was the neighborhood pacifist. Doesn't take a high IQ to figure out the rest of the story. When I got into high school, after 5 years of nearly daily beatings (even during summer vacation), my parents decided I needed to learn how to protect myself. They enrolled me in YMCA karate classes. That made the next 2 years unbelievably hellish. But when I hit my Junior year, I won my first battle with an older kid. After a few more wins, each one leaving my attackers (sometimes multiple attackers) increasingly bloody, the neighborhood bullies left me alone. Peace will always come to the ones who don't seek out violence but have no problem raining it down when needed.

An edged weapon will technically do more damage, but also requires that you willingly close the distance on the enemy.
