WE NEED MORE SHOWS LIKE THIS!! Demonstrating these simple, elegant experiments that both probe a child's thought process and show them the basic principles of the laws that govern not just the world, but the entire universe (as far as we know)! I love this so much
When Mr. Wizard said: "You can have a lot of fun with a vacuum pump." The naughty part of my brain thought: Yeah, I bet a lot of guys have fun with a certain kind of pump!
That was extremely nostalgic! I grew up watching this man. I have always been gifted with a brain that understands what its seeing perfectly almost immediately. I performed every experiment that he said not to do. I'm still here. I'm not an engineer or anything but I could have been. I was a stair builder cabinet maker/ remodeler/finish carpenter. Goldsmith, jewelry maker, Craft beer brewer (don't drink anymore) and so many other things and I think Mr. Wizard helped fuel my passion for learning different things.
My chemistry teacher showed us this same experiment, but instead of a regular marshmallow, she used a Marshmallow Peep, so it was humorous to see the Peep grow in size in the vacuum created in the bell jar and then shrivel up when atmospheric pressure returned.
It stimulates the brain and causes kids to become curious about something. Remember, he has a limited amount of time to get a bunch of information across to a child watching entertainingly. He explained the simplistic idea of what an air pump does. It creates a vacuum by sucking out the air. Here are some examples that a kid knows and sees every day that visually shows that the air is being sucked out.
That's because respect died years ago. And it's easy for cowards to be mean, disrespectful, and inappropriate from behind a keyboard when nobody is willing to hold them accountable.
Flat out wrong. There are more women in stem here in America today then there have ever been in the last 100 years. Sounds like you think women went feral and started living in the jungle and ate the pages out the damn book
