Souness was everything he says he was as a Liverpool player. He was brilliant in all aspects needed for a midfield player of his era. As Liverpool Manager he signed some , at best, mediocre players. Julian Dicks was a shocking signing. It took a while to recover after his tenure.

Souness gave Paul Stewart a contract to sign after Paul Stewart had drunk 15 bottles of Holsten Pils waiting for Souness to show up. Souness just pushed the empty bottles aside and put the contract on the table. Stewart made 24 appearances for Lfc then was loaned out, to Crystal Palace.

@craig0weston20 Not sure about that mate. Souness has taken many shots at him before. SJ said he was overrated while acknowledging his record 🤔. I'd have more respect for them if they had the balls to just say they dislike him. His records and his consistency is unmatched in PL since he's been here. Suddenly, a poor 6 weeks after a 3 mth layoff, while still scoring the most for us, and they're literally dismissing all he's achieved. This special treatment is saved just for Salah and in my 40 + years as a Red, and a footy fan, I've never seen anything like this before for any player.

@oliverzuffour1725 It is their opinion and they're calm because they all share it. On other platforms they've been very animated when with ppl who don't share it, that's the nature of discussion. It still doesn't change the fact that they're using 6 weeks to base they're opinion on a player that's been the best and most consistent in England 1.5 months short of 7 seasons. You just need to listen to the other players young and old, who talk about Salah to know Souness and Jordan just don't like him but use a footballing narrative to make it sound considered.

Mo salah Liverpool's record epl goalscorer and he is not even a striker. He is having a blip at present and that happens to most players if not all. He is also been carrying an injury since the afcon and has not been fully fit. Simon Jordan has never been a Salah fan and insiders know he has a bias against Muslim players so it is no surprise that he doesn't like mo Salah. They talk about numbers, look at salahs numbers and you will get a reality check of how good he has been. He is accused of being selfish but had more assists in the last 3 seasons than any other Liverpool player. The best Liverpool player in the last 10 yrs and that is statistical not an opinion

Salah is the greatest Egyptian player to have lived, he's lifted both domestic and European titles during his era at Liverpool including the golden boot during his debut season. For anyone to say that doesn't make a player world class is simply lying to themselves.

This narrative being pushed feels malicious. Good thing is stats do not lie. Mo Salah' production of both Goals and Assists is undeniable incredible. If anything I think Klopp' been predictable and whenever the energy of the team dropped during his tenure, Liverpool were undone.

The point about leadership is valid, but be honest, this Liverpool team massively punched above their weight this year. Jones was playing out of his skin and the team actually looked better when they had all the injuries (Trent, Robbo, Salah etc). Having all those players come back in and underperform has hurt us. Jota has been a huge miss though. He was on fire earlier in the season. To say it’s just down to the leadership is lazy punditry

the idea klopp has takeb some plucky mid tier side to dominance is laugable. he has a big budget and more often than not funished 3rd or worse - finishing in the top 2 only 3 of 9 seasons. city are 6th in terms of net spend over the last 5 years, and have never finished outside the top two in that period. klopp has performed as expected in the main: took a budget that hovers around the top 4 and created a side that mainly finishes 3-5th, but has the occassional run at a title or cup.

That's why Salah is underrated. Blame the current or FIFA generation. Salah is a victim of recency bias. If De Bruyne was not in city, would he still be considered world class? If city didn't win trophies, would Haaland be considered as world class?

Imo Klopp made a huge error that led to their recent demise - he played a full strength team v S Prague in the 2nd leg of the Europa League with the M Utd FA Cup under 3 days later. Liverpool were already 5-1 up with the tie dead and dusted - he could have/should rested the big names and kept them fresh for the FA Cup where there was always a chance of extra-time. In the event that last -second loss was a momentum-changing point which appears to have killed their confidence....

Listening to the panel about Salah makes you understand why Bernado can literally swing on his shirt without the English Ref seeing it as a foul. Unbelievable how bias. Salah has to be evaluated on all he has done in 7 years in England and not just a body of 10 games post AFCON when Klopp saddenly decided to play him so wide so much so that his heatmap is no different from most fullbacks in the league.

Injuries just caught up them. Liverpool were practically unbeatable for most of the season. Small margins. If Jota had been fit, we beat United in both games. If Allison is fit, he saves one or two of the shots that Kelleher let in. Out of the to three teams, only one team had significant injuries, so it’s no surprise that the other two are finishing stronger.

There is a problem by defining world class as a player that gets into any team. If that is the bar you can reduce the argument to who gets into the best team in the world. That means there can only be 1 world class goal keeper, 2 maybe 3 strikers, only 1 number 8 or 6 or left back or right back. I think there are more than 11 world class players at the moment.

Could it be that mentally Liverpool couldn’t play after what the league did to them when they played Man City. When you know that everyone saw Jeremy Doku spike McCallister in the box at the end of the match, referee and VAR as well and no call was made. You may realize you are not the chosen team to win the premiership at that , no matter what you do. And it’s not the first time this kind of thing has happened to them. And the fact that VAR reviews everything it’s terribly abusive.

Zaha 564 Salah 178 These are the number of fouls won by each player in the premier league since 2017-18 to date. In fact Jack Grealish "won" 277 fouls in his two seasons at Villa. More than Salah has in his 7 seasons at Liverpool. Yet somehow Salah is the diver who wins cheap fouls.

Salah has been backing out of challenges since Ramos nobbled him in the UCL final, that’s why his ‘fouls won’ numbers are low.

@timmurray6890 in his debut premier league season he won just over 30 fouls. Which has basically been the average since then. Whereas Grealish had over 160 fouls in one his seasons at Villa and Zaha has had over 100 on a couple of occasions. That was debut season that happened before the final. I wonder what the next reason given will be.

A player should play accordingly to manager level - whether only for 20mins or 10mins to play for. Even you score every game, you need to respect to all the organisations/ team / manager / others players including other people to help you and support. You need to be humble to all aspects of

Salah has one bad game against Marinez, forgetting that he’s ruined him twice previously p, and that’s evidence goes missing. Torres destroyed Vidic and Bellamy humiliated Ferdinand in a couple of games. So that means those 2 centre half’s “go missing” by this logic
