I loved David Haye and I remember seeing him on the front of the paper when he beat valuev in the Union Jack 🇬🇧 shorts and his gladiator hair style. He looked the part and got people interested in him and boxing 🥊
The Haye Bellew press conference with Eddie Hearn remains one of the best until this day. Yes i know much of it was contrived but still it was great viewing. Definitely a way to sell a fight.
Really enjoyed this from David. I have no problem with his swagger in the past because if the average guy had his genetics and punchpower we'd all have supreme confidence in ourselves too. He was honest about his losses and humble with it so fair play to the man. Great career and great mentality for a champion.
I remember pissing myself at Haye asking Frank Warren to get Matt Skelton wheeled out to the ring "on a Stannah Stairlift" to earn him some more easy money 🤣.
Haye was great boxer undisputed cruiser champ and became world heavyweight. I think is ego and arrogance kinda made him lose against bellew (which he shouldn't have). Still great tho.
I'd love to see David hay to call out Tony Bellew. N batter him, so bellew, can then talk about something else,, apart from every day,, kissing right up USYKS arse, constantly gan on about how fantastic usyk is, just coz he batterd Bellew!!! When I think about bellews history,, all he is famous for, was he beat David Haye, was in a movie,, n got batterd off usyk. I can't think of anything else, or memorable fights he had
Simon is not the right guy to be interviewing people. He asks a question he's not interested in letting them tell their story he constantly cuts them off
For those old enough to remember local pubs would be packed for Haye’s fights, especially when he stepped up. That night he beat Valuev was an unreal atmosphere, see also the night he battered John Ruiz. Great times
I've always like David for his explosive power, but after what he went through with Bellew 1 fight and still never quit, that is the epitome of someone who you want on your side in the trenches. A proper warrior. He couldn't even walk straight and still battled on. Heart of a lion in my opinion
Simon saying “we know the answer to that” when David suggested Fury either went straight back to the drawing board in a professional manner or drowned his sorrows in an unprofessional manner because fury was seen drunk and out on the town ONCE in the immediate aftermath of his loss is pathetic, clickbait journalism. Everything Simon claims to hate… what a hypocrite🤦♂️
