How does Fiber Optic RealShape (FORS) technology works? 

This video demonstrates how the Fiber Optic RealShape (FORS) technology is integrated into LumiGuide. FORS-enabled guidewires* have a hair-thin optical fiber integrated into them. By pulsing laser light into the fiber and analyzing how it is reflected, the full shape of devices like catheters, which are slid over the guidewire, can be reconstructed and visualized. These devices are shown in the context of the patient’s anatomy through integration with pre- or intra operative images (CT and X-ray fluoroscopy). *Other devices will be FORS-enabled in the future.
