We were born. Then we had to survive. Then some of us took conscious of their own existence and of its importance as whole, so they painted themselves. And because human is a very egocentric and egoistic specie, we had to split ressources according to merit. So we needed a way to keep track of each one's doing for and against the society and each other. Invention of writing. You can continue that little charade till the invention of computers. Everything is just a matter of need. And luck also. And need to understand too. Human is a specie made to go forward and to solve its own problems.
MLC is created not by more layers, rather variable voltage levels. MLC (2 bits per cell) simplistic cell data storage example: Voltage stored in cell 0v=00, 1v=01, 2v=10, 3v=11. It takes time and complexity to decode the voltages as well as write them and also there's a higher likelihood of errors due to the analog data hence error correction is needed.

Just deleted Microsoft flight simulator 2020 off my ssd, it took less than a minute (OVER 100 GB OF DATA). I was curious as to what flash memory is. Great video, great quality, very well explained. Thanks :)
Nice video. I get a little bit dizzy with the up and down animation, I would recommend to decrease the animation speed a bit. But that maybe it's just me. Thank you for the video.
I found the limit of the flash memory on my phone today. 2 years of downloading 100gb every 3 days. Always transferring it to a hard drive. I never thought I'd be able to do it.

It's crazy how much tech we just take granted. For example we just buy an SD card and never question how we can leave it for years without any electrical input and it just retains the data

Great video, However I come across terms like sectors on flash. You said pages are smallest programmable unit and multiple pages make up a block which is the smallest erasable unit. Which one of these is sector?

It is said that NAND data can only be stored for two weeks at 55 degrees Celsius. If my SSD works at 55 degrees Celsius, does it mean that the controller needs to rewrite the data after every two weeks of operation to prevent data loss? Or rather, after powered on, NAND itself could prevent electronic loss without consuming the lifespan?
Hello Nice Video, I have a question .At 2:52 you are saying that if there are no electrons at substrate then logic zero is assumed as electro are trapped at floating gate so no current will flow through substrate but why we are not measuring current ? without measuring current how shall we will come to know that there is a zero current. What is threshold voltage of flash cell ? what does it mean and suppose you apply voltage more than threshold voltage then what will happen ? Please reply. Thanks
3:37 i don't think the "decades" statement here is true, flash memory loses the data over a pretty reasonable amount of time even in human terms (7+ years)
I didn't think it was made in Japan 1984 Erasing memories requires heat, which is the same principle as erasing cassettes, which have high-resistance materials that need high heat, such as ultraviolet waves... thank you
