The Glint debit card does not work. Yes, I do have other debit cards that work fine, and they are attached to my bank accounts. I have tried to use my card 3 times and even requested another pin. Still does not work. I called customer service twice. Once I waited online for over 5 mins then a recording came on and said, please leave a message, we will get back to you in 3 to 5 days. Really bad customer service. I have my own business and a return call in 3 to 5 days would put me out of business. I think Digital Perspective and Digital Asset Investor should stop promoting Glint util the service improves.
Hi Kyle, yes when you spend your gold on the card the exact amount of gold required to cover the merchant's invoice is sold using the wholesale market rate at the moment of the transaction + Glint does NOT charge you the 0.5% fee if the payment is in your currency of residence.
You pay 0.5% to convert your money (USD/EUR/GBP) to gold initially. The value of your gold (in USD etc) will vary with the spot price, and the spot price is used (with no fee) to convert to the currency price when you spend from the gold account with the debit card. Apart from the initial conversion fee and the ongoing storage fees there is no extra "price adjustment" fee.

When I deposit money with Glint to transfer to gold so I can spend it accordingly, am I also paying for the premium’s of gold ? Like if I deposit it enough money to equal 1oz at $1,800, am I also paying the premium that comes out to $1900
Spending funds directly from your gold wallet using your Mastercard, there is no 0.5% fee in your country of residence. There is only a 0.5% fee when buying or selling gold from our buy or sell tab in the app or if you are using the card outside of your country of residence.
Hi Diane. Thanks for your query. Gold itself doesn't change but the value does. Please note that it doesn't go up if it's left in the USD currency wallet. The USD would have to be used to purchase gold and once gold has been purchased then, yes, the value of the gold would fluctuate with the live market selling price of gold. You will be able to see the fiat value of your gold holdings on the currencies page of the Glint app.
I ordered a card and downloaded the app… do I add money onto the card and is there an area to purchase the gold under usd on the app? Thanks for explaining this…
Thanks for your interest. The Glint Master comes in as a black card. There are plans to perhaps release the card in gold version so please keep an eye out for this.
