Interesting! - What happens in very high PH waters, such as chalk pits? I fish one which seems to be in pretty good shape: The fish are beautiful and have been replenishing their numbers naturally since they were stocked in the 60s or 70s. They don't grow very big though (up to around 25lbs), and do seem to rely on anglers bait for a good portion of their nutrition... Does the weed and other plant matter help to neutralise the PH? And can a high PH affect the amount of natural food available?
