The machine gun lacks the bipod to be longer, 4-6 cm more longitudinal angle, the horizon, the interchangeable gun, quick change, 300 shots run the risk of overheating. in a 200m ambush you only have 30 seconds, 8-10 seconds to shoot the 100 shots and with a 40mm m79 taking two, three shots, it doesn't give you more time. a section of 50 men with their m60, m72 66mm, m16 + m203 40mm the m79 40mm would kill you very quickly.
