Thanks. Been looking at a travel trailer and this helps…. I’ve been getting mix advice and nice to see someone pushing the limits on what the truck can handle.
@@nowayoutstp4 Nice. GF and I looking to get on the road and see God’s Country. We’ve been inspired to see some of Americas greatest landmarks but wanted something that will be comfortable for us on long trips. Running the 5.3 AT4 with the 10 speed and I know we have the same power plant. Glad to see someone did and we almost upgraded to the 6.2 because guys now like the overkill option and I was looking for real driver experience situation when budgeting for trips as opposed to mall crawlers. I can’t see the the trade up benefits long term and hoping the 5.3 can do it sufficiently. Trailers we’ve been looking at is right around what you got In the 7000lb area. Did you do any suspension upgrades and gear tuning or you running stock? Btw. Color on the truck looks nice. Kinda wish I went with a dark color but coming from black. Getting the summit white was a breathe of fresh air. :) We do quite of abit of skiing and snowboarding as well. So curious how the trailer perform uphill.
Plenty of power uphill, 10 speed will do even better than my 8 speed for sure. No upgrades but I'm going to add a leaf spring in the future I believe. She squats a bit too much for my liking.
I guess I'm the one gal watching. Great video- thx for information. Looking at an MPG Cruiser 21 feet total 26 feet - dry weight 5400 - total 7209 using at 1500 Silverado 5.3. Im thinking I'm ok??
I have a similar 2019 Silverado 1500 RST 5.3 V8 5270lbs truck weight and GCWR of 15000. Considering a 32’ 11” trailer with a dry weight of 6300lbs. Thoughts?
Just guessing from ours; short distances work great but you’re not carrying that thing around the world very easy 😂 hope that makes sense. Also for ours anything under 65mph is usually ok but I don’t think I’d be comfortable with long distance interstate stuff.
I kinda love the alpha wolf! No question it’s a value brand and there will be things wrong with it but at least you expect it 😂 you could spend twice as much and have the same problems imo. Get a good price and be happy like we are.
@@nowayoutstp4 we have a 2021 trail boss and we’re looking at the 26RL-L version two slides and an island. It weighs 7088. You think I would be good towing such a unit? We currently have a keystone premier which has some pretty good quality to it but it was pricy. So not sure the alpha wolf would be an upgrade. But it would be a tad longer. Thanks for your input. Hard decision to make sometimes.
I also ❤️ the 26RL limited! Probably not a huge upgrade but if you want it YOU WANT IT! I totally get it 😂 Ummm I was also concerned with length and weight for the half-ton. I added a leaf spring recently (not sure if you saw that video) but I’m less reluctant to max out my tongue weight now. I think you’d be happier with an extra leaf spring as well. Or air bags 💼 maybe. Anyhow either choice is a good one ☝️ Stay strong my friend and Happy Campin!
If it’s gusty you can definitely feel it, as you should with 8k lbs on a half ton. It did exactly as expected! It definitely wasn’t terrible, but a 3/4 ton would be nicer.
