If you are of appropriate age then you have to fill out forms for the NBA draft and send them to the NBA head office. They will then review your application and if you are of a standard they will include you in the draft. Either way they will send you a letter. If you are not eligible for the draft you can go to a NBA g league tryout, there a numerous held across the country. If successful you'll join. A g league team and then you will have to put the work in to make the NBA

Sounds interesting but it's never as simple as moving someone on. Furthermore, people continuously develop. A big element is culture, which is probably the same for NBA teams, you go to a new team and they do things differently. I think a key idea is that management should be involved in team sports. The reason being is a leader has to deal with a team they didn't pick and they got to get the best out of them

Yep, from the 2021 draft Cade Cunningham going first gets a cool $8.1m for his first year. If you are the 30th pick, Santi Aldama in this case, he picked up a cool $1.6m for his first year. Remember NBA players contracts are guaranteed. So even if a player is a bust they still get the money. This summer.is going to be interesting as no rookie has passed up on a supper max contract. Zion could be the first.

You need to have graduated and you can only enter the draft one year after graduation. You can't go straight from high school. Given the change of NCAA rules it makes sense going to college to play as NCAA players can now make money from sponsorship etc.

No you don't (and shouldn't). If you graduate you have to wait for a year before you can enter the draft

All NBA teams get both a first and second round pick every year. The reason people are talking about the Lakers having the 2027 & 2029 picks available to trade, is because several of their other picks are tied up due top trades they have already made. If you're good at zone defence then maybe enter the draft

It's to give everyone a level playing field. In football for instance the likes of Burnley are never going to complete for players that man city are going for. Due to the franchise system which has no relegations it makes sense to ahve a draft of the best college athletes. The NCAA is huge and brings in so much money therefore, the draft is never going to be dropped. Also as there are no transfer fees the palyers get more money. NBA players wages make footballers wages look small

@@BasketballNoise While I can see the reason behind that Idea, I don't think that the sport would go downhill because of a transfermarket because you only need to implement strict rules like salary caps for teams Just imagine being a young prospect and being drafted to some shitty club just because they won some lottery. This sounds kinda sick. Also money isn't the solution for everything, just look at soccer. Neither Man city nor Paris st. Germain have won a champions league trophy besides being rich as shit. Same goes for the premiere league: Yes there are teams with less financial capabilities but at least there are 6-8 teams who fight for the championship and there are exceptions like Leicester city. Just because you have lots of money doesn't guarantee that you are successful there are a lot more variables like team-spirit the individual personality and tactics.

The money argument falls away when if you bring Chelsea into this 🤣 Think about all the teams that there are in football leagues to do transfers. You have 30 NBA teams that's it, transfers wouldnt work. Also the draft is not the only way into the NBA, there's the g league too. Ben Wallace, Gary Payton II all went undrafted and ended up winning a championship. I do see your point but the US is too small to do this for basketball.

Great question and thanks for asking it. The bucks had this year's 30th place in the draft, as they won the 2021 finals. However, the clippers received the 30th pick via other teams from the bucks due to the Aaron Gordon trade. As we all know the Clippers have never won an NBA championship and won't for a long time 😬
