Australian oceanographer Steve Rintoul is a Southern Ocean specialist, working at CSIRO Wealth from Oceans Flagship Hobart and the Antarctic Climate & Ecosystems Cooperative Research centre. In the first of a series of interviews from the Antarctic re-supply vessel, Aurora Australia recorded by Nick Roden, he describes the influence of the Southern Ocean on global climate.

Sí ésto ocurrió hace mil años, la comunidad mundial no producía elementos para un cambio climático radical y ahora se dice que ésto influye por la actividad humana, sí entonces la actividad humana era nula a que se debe éste estado alarmista, sé dice también que un periodo dé diez años tengamos un mínimo de maunder
