Well you might want to go and reread how vortex says about zeroing a gun.. your gun is in the class B.. so your supposed to zero at 200 yrds.. the Mark's are right. You didn't zero at the correct distance. My 7mag is zeroed at 200yrds and I'm very close to bullseye out to 600yrds.
I bought the scope used, so I didn’t get any paper work with it. I got my info from the vortex website. I did just revisit the website and you are right. I guess I better go re-zero and make another video. Darn it, more shooting guns.
I promise u if you zero it at 200yrds it will hunting close from 0 to 600yrds. I love my vortex scope on my 7 mag. And try the Winchester deer season ammo.
That is a big round and you new it was bringing the pain. Shot a Mauser in that caliber 308 and a shotgun all in the same day and my upper shoulder was pretty purple and yellow the next day! Relax and tember BRASF BREATH, RELAX, AIM, SQUEEZE, FOLLOW THROUGH
I hate to be the guy, but you lift your head after every shot. Try keeping your head down observing the shot keeping the trigger depressed until the recoil has ceased. Then slowly let out the trigger.
Instead of flinching, focus on follow through. Load your magazine with a live round mixed with several dummy rounds so you never know whether your shot will be live or click. Also at least 5 dry fires for each live fire, focus on the reticle when dry fireing.
I also shoot 7mm rem mag and I am considering a more powerful scope. I wasn’t sure if this scope could actually handle the recoil but I found your video...thanks.
Definitely something I am working on. I caught my self several times before I even pulled the trigger. I edited those out for obvious reason, I don’t want to look like to much of a chump. I have lightened up the trigger to about 3lbs, that has helped quite a bit.
@@mrstangthang98 glad you didn't take it to heart.. I lightened all my triggers up there most I could bc I don't do good with heavy triggers. But realizing the problem is the first step. Don't worry about what you look like, if people can help you realize what some errors are the better. Just hopefully they aren't dicks about it
@@mrstangthang98 but I'd say the best way I learned to get over it is lay in front of my front door looking at things thru the scope and hold on stuff and dry fire.some folks say it ain't good to dry fire but I've heard different. don't really go by what people say. But it helped me learn how to settle in, hold on target, and squeeze the trigger. And shooting on a table top with no way of loading the bipod doesn't help. Get ya a inch thick piece of wood and screw it into the table so you can load the bipod
I bought the Diamondback 4-12x40 for a Tikka 7mm Rem Mag and I'll be sure to zero at 200 even though most of the hunting here in my zone will be shots under 100 yards. I'll just zero at 200 and then shoot some targets at 100 and see where to compensate for a shot under 200. Thanks for the vid.
Those lines work well on my Ruger 10/22 with 950 FPS subs . Sighted it dead on at 35 yards (still dead on close as 20 yards) and then at 65 yards I hold over on the first reticle line which lands me right on the bullseye . 22 Subs are alot of fun in that they condense what you'd see in 100 to 400 yard rifle shots down into 50-300 ft . Vortex Crosfire II 3x9x40 with Burris low zee rings and CCi supressor 22 . Since I use almost all 950 fps subs , i just tried different zero's and a 35 yard zero seemed to cover all distances i'd need .
That scope was designed for a .308 i believe with a 24in barrel. How ever it can never be perfect unless the scope was designed for your particular gun with the particular type of ammo you will be using in your gun! And to be most accurate, perfect hand loaded ammunition loaded the exact way every single time!
No it wasnt. It wasnt meant just for the 308. It can be used on any gun literally. If u know how to use the scope apparently this guy doesnt know what bullet drop and the ballistic of the rifle is cuase if he did then he would know that it's a moa scope first line down means 1.5 moa next 4.5 moa then 7.5 moa then 11 and use a ballistics calculator with the muzzle speed, bullet weight and caliper ur shooting plug it all into a ballistic calculator or do the math ur self. Learn how to shoot dont blame something that works completely fine blame urself. Admit u dont know what ur doing sometimes and ask for help quit blaming others for ur stupidity
JT 1200 it’s doing just fine for me. No issues yet. It killed a bull at 450 yards and has taken a beating climbing up and down mountains. No complaints from me.
Read on how to zero it in for a specific caliber, grain and brand. Its set up perfectly if you do it correctly. Using differnt caliber and bullet weight is pretty common sense that the drop will be different meaning the reticle is not a computer and adjust to differnt ammo. Wow.... I thought perhaps people that shoot riffles often would know these things
Dude, Take a chill pill. Obviously it is common sense that every rifle and bullet are going to fly different. The point was the advertising I saw through vortex with “set in stone” numbers for the BDC. So it was a reference on how that all lines up with this caliber and rifle (and elevation, humidity, bullet weight. Literally everything.) when I make videos I put them together pretty quick. Sorry it’s not more polished.
Yeah sorry buddy but 1 your rifle is really not stable on that table, I'd put a sand bag on that pod because that table isn't the best platform. And that scope will perform if you zero it correctly, just be sure it's all level also, your sure not far off the target at all, great shooting but that scope is very capable. Thanks for the video and I like those cartridges.
Vortex optics .com has a long range ballistic calculator. Use this along with the BDC Reticle and see how you go. Seems to work well with my .223. Different beast I know but maybe worth a look. lrbc.vortexoptics.com/#!/
Thanks for the link bud. Since making the video I found that chart, it’s pretty awesome. I’m planning on making an update to this video once my broken leg heals. I also think vortex wants a 200yrd zero for my rifle.
Maybe you should sell that 7 and get yourself a 223 since your so recoil sensitive lol. Just going to wound game with a gun that’s to big for your shoulder and capability’s. And read the manual you obviously don’t know how to use the scope
If you download the Vortex app, it will tell you what the lines are by your caliber and bullet weight. I have a Diamondback on a 300 Win Mag and a simple dope to 500.
Nope. Just nope... You obviosly can't follow through the shots and throwing your head up with the result that your groups are the same as a standard minivan.
That rifle kicks to hard for your ability ...you need to lay into the butt stock and keep your head down in that scope....but you can't..because of the recoil ....you need a different caliber ...you'll be far better off ..
