This is a perfect example showing why cole backed out. Lyrically cole all down to battle but rap battles often have to boil down to getting disrespectful and personal and he has high respect for Kendrick. I don’t think it’s that cole didn’t want the smoke it’s more that cole couldn’t compete without disrespecting dot and his fam

People say J Cole made a "weak move" for dropping out of the beef...no he didn't. J Cole sensed the tension and knew when it was going to get real and raw emotions were about to flare and the ugly truth was about to be exposed, industry verses true hip-hop. RESPECT to both Kendrick & J Cole because I respect both artists. They both always kind of been the underdogs because they spoke truth in their music and would not fall for false sensory of what is considered rap today.
