First video that I've ever seen of this channel. And I have to say, this is a criminally underrated RU-vid channel. You got the secret fourth member of the Grand Tour out here testing the durability of a computer chair, and he has less then 100K subs? Unacceptable!
this video has every aspect of why I watch and love the OG Topgear. What I showcase of british comedy, showmanship and, informative! pissed myself honestly. Great laugh!
Thanks for having me on Stu! Little known fact, you were one of the reasons I bought a Secretlab chair from watching your videos before I started my channel. You’re also the reason I’m on the cusp of buying another.. 🙈🤣 Great video mate and thanks for having me on! 😎
Same here Michael. I bought mine on the strength of seeing how many content creators have SL chairs. If it good enough for the like of you, Stu, Linus et al, then it must be good enough for me.
These review's are the best review's anybody makes. I bough my electric scooter watching your review. These reviews take in count every possible factor.
i think its a good thing that they wouldn't catch on fire even with accellerant. that tells me even in the event of a house fire or dropping a lit candle or god forbid, you're smoking and fall asleep or some wild scenario, the chair probably wouldn't catch fire if it wasn't catching even with accellerant. it might just be my imagination "on fire" but it makes the chair safer than most and in some scenarios, could mean the difference between your whole house burning down and being able to put out fire in time
Masterpiece of a video! Although, it’s missing the kitty test… which one would endure the better a cat, let’s say randomly named Mia, scratching the back of the chair asking for attention? Probably the fabric I would guess?
@@StusReviewsUK true, the only thing that can scratch diamonds, beside diamonds. Thanks! Really thinking about the Titan Evo. Between this one and the Hinomi H1, you’ve tested both which one would you chose? (Price is the same at this moment with discounts)
It's kind of strange that no one ever mentions just how HARD the seat is. I've had mine for 2 years. Just as hard. Also, I would have liked to have seen what a dropped cigarette would do.
I have mine for more than 3 years now, I use it daily... I have 5 cats and a baby 😅 and it looks like new, no joke...the strap for head pillow are ripping off but that's the only things.
Moving house soon, might go from my Ergo 2 to a Secretlabs - I contacted them within a year of purchase as both armrests had split and the seat was fraying... and it took ages to get a reply only to be told £107 for the seat and armrests, 125 Euro shipping. :/
Great video - I’m considering one of their leatherette chairs in white (the Star Wars model) and was wondering about the white showing wear sooner than black. Any advice?
Thoroughly educational thanks Stu, I'll be sure not to set mine on fire, use power tools on it, push it down country roads or smear it in food and drink but if I DO then I know it'll at least mostly hold up
my chair got flat bottomed after 6-8 months of use...now its like sitting on a peace of wood.....shur it LOOKS new but it actually hurts to sit on now....worst 700 candian i ever spent...and no im not overweight im 205lbs....i just sit on my chair for 8-15hrs a day. Its now used as a stool in my garage cept i removed the back and threw it in the garbage. I myself have gone back to a office desk chair....there is a reason why race cars have bucket racing seats the same design as secret labs there meant to HOLD you in place NOT be comfortable....
This is fantastic and ive bought loads of office chairs for homeworking with the base either flattening and becoming uncomfortable or just stabbing into the side of my leg. With your ...size..and the length of time used..this makes me want to get one! Thank you!
dude thats my first vid watching about your channel and damn very high quality content! thank you watching you from jordan-middle east thank you mister
I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and order the cleaner for my soft cover chair. .. (Done!) While on the site I noticed they now have chair skins for the cloth Titan Evo chairs. So if that's what the cloth chair you have is, you could make it look completely new again and even change to another colour from the original. Wow! So that will be what I'll go to next if I can't remove the stain from my chair with their own cleaner (I'm not expecting miracles but one could hope!)
I have a Titan and in less than a year the arms have started to rip in random places, Secretlab have agreed to replace them but I've waiting over 3 months for them to have them in stock to ship. Not what you expect from a company with such expensive chairs. I won't be buying another from them.
What the hell are you doing to your chairs arms? 😂. Literally 4 years and not a single scratch on mine. 👁👄👁 Would be interesting to work out what type of use causes this 👀… but still, great news they are replacing them for free for you!
@@StusReviewsUK I WFH so they get a good 8 hours a day but it's not like I'm constantly leaning on the arms. I thought it may be sun damage at first but ruled that out, Yeah good they are replacing them and no quibble which makes me thing they have seen this before. Not good that they still haven't sent them though!
have fun buying a cheaper chair and replacing the whole chair after a few months because they don't do spare parts and don't have warranties therefore spending more than secret labs.
Man, your channel is such a hidden gem, helped me purchase a few things including my secret lab, can’t wait to go back and watch some of your older content as well!
Looking at getting a new office chair, would secretlab be your first port of call? I work from home and sit in the chair 8-9 hours a day with breaks, sometimes have back pain, want something supportive
Great video! I'm thinking about getting the leatherette or softweave 2022 in artic white. I also thought softweave is going to be harder to get stains out of there. But after seeing this I don't know 😂 I also smoke cigarettes and I'm scared for the ash getting stains on there
I found your channel by a recommendation from Paul Hibbert. It's nice to see a company that honors their warranty without issue. That's how customer service should work. To many companies have the attitude that you must have broken it and not honoring their warranty. They act as though you're trying to get on over on them. No one actively breaks something to see if they can get the warranty to cover it. Even if they did, those people are few and far between. That's nothing that would effect the profit. If it does there product needs to be improved, which is a problem they need to address internally.
This video is propaganda!! My chair started falling apart after six months and secret lab basically told me that it was supposed to do that. The armrests started flaking away and the seams in the seat cushion made it to about six months. Dont waste your money!!!
yeah… ‘propaganda’… take your flat earth tin foil hat off for a second, and realise all these tests were actually conducted before your very eyes - Over a year exposed to the elements outdoors and as you can see the arm rests are in perfect condition. And 4 years of use the seams of mine are still perfect. I have no idea what the hell you did to your chair - my guess is you either bought a fake, or you weigh more than the recommended weight for the chair and have torn the seat due to obesity.
@@StusReviewsUKhe def bought a fake, I have a cheap 150$ "gaming chair" and it hasent seen that much wear in 2 years 😂 I think this guy chews on his chair everyday 😅
If you ever buy this chair and change your mind and want to return. Be prepared to pay a hefty sum to ship back. Their return policy does not include shipping back in the states. Was very frustrating to find this out after every reviewer had such great things to say about customer service.
@@StusReviewsUK Fernandina Beach FL. By the way, loved the chair and thought it was awesome. Only single reason why I returned it. I am too short and my legs dangle on it if it was just maybe an inch shorter my feet would’ve touched the ground perfectly also annoying to me that in this modern day and age, we have a pretty established company that doesn’t have a way to test the product before you fully commit and enable to return no strings attached
@@macizzyyyou can't wear it in. It is ergonomically uncomfortable. These race bucket seats are designed for sports cars that are meant to keep you in one firm position. Take a look at Herman miller chairs.
I've had 2 secret labs chairs and both are garbage. After a few years wearing my everyday outfit, soft jeans or sweatpants, the stitching begins to fray. I contacted them and was told "just don't wear those pants" which is unacceptable. The first I got was their faux-leather Titan XL, after 6 months the leather began to flake and crack even with regular leather treatments, and required a lot of floor cleanup. The cloth series is pure utter crap, the hardware is sturdy but the materials for the seat are terrible quality. They advertise that weight up to a certain point, in the Titan XL around 300lbs, will stay plush and comfortable. I weigh much less than that, 275 lbs but I like larger chairs for my broad shoulders and height of 6'2" make smaller chairs a problem. After a year of daily use I bought a seat cushion because the seat it comes with became extremely compressed. The stitching is falling apart as well. I won't be buying another one and I've suggested to my friends not to waste the money. There are much better chairs out there for just a few $100 more.
