Durian, revered as the "King of Fruits", originates from Borneo, Sumatra, and Peninsular Malaysia, with historical evidence of cultivation dating back 1,300 years to Java Island, Indonesia. Despite its potent aroma, durian has gained immense popularity across Asia due to its nutritional richness and diverse processed products.
Durian farming, involving the cultivation of durian trees in orchards, has witnessed a surge, particularly with the Musang King variety, covering around 70,000 hectares in Malaysia. The approval for Malaysian frozen durian exports to China in 2019 has further opened avenues for durian mass production and distribution.
Meanwhile, Thailand's durian hotspots feature vast orchards meticulously tended by farmers to ensure optimal growth and yield, facilitating durian production and processing. Thailand's mastery of durian distribution ensures a steady supply for domestic consumption and export, notably to China, where the demand remains significant. Thai durian farms have evolved into tourist attractions, offering visitors a chance to explore orchards, learn about durian farming techniques, and witness the harvesting and production of durian, blending agricultural entrepreneurship with tourism to showcase the allure of the "King of Fruits."

I live in the States and eat durians whenever I like. They are sold in Asian stores, a bit expensive especially for the fresh and non-frozen ones.

This is one of the things I like about youtube, helping others out in many different ways. I'll have to see if we can get it on New Zealand.
