Indeed @eugeneoman..."Edward Lilywhite/Ethelbert 'Ed' Norton"...oh how I truly miss them 'good ol' days", when we NEVER had to worry about being 'politically incorrect'!!
Im surprised Joyce Randolph lived this long till the age 99. May God rest both their souls ❣️🙏😞 & thanks for all the heart & laughs you brought to The Honeymooners.
I loved ALL the characters. They all did so well together. I think The Honeymooners is my favorite all time sitcom. That and I LOVE LUCY is right up there with it. I love them both. 💗
I love the honeymooners. You could nit pick one cast member without the other three as a whole they complement each other perfectly...even Alice's mom brought the joy of laughter to the show
How sweet it is! that you did a tribute to The Honeymooners. Thank you for this. God Bless You. I'm thankful we still have Joyce Randolph with us. May the others RIP.
It seemed like more than 39 episodes. I swear I haven't seen all of them. My family and I used to watch this in the late 1960's and early 1970's on our small 20"( I think) Black & White TV. 0f course color didn't matter because I was taped in B&W. Great family times when both mom, dad and 4 brothers and a sister were alive to watch it. I was the baby so I have lost a lot. However that was 1 show that was entertaining to watch. We knew at the end Ralph would have to apologize for something he did wrong
i grew up in brooklyn and i could tell you this was the best show on tv and still today i watch the honey mooners i have the collection and i dont tire of watching right now i was watching it it still makes me feel like if i was back in new york
My pal harvey says it is probably the greatest comedy in the history of tv. 60 years later you know every line that's coming and you still laugh hysterically when its delivered. Ralphy boy old pal o mine
Jackie Gleason and Dean Martin had something in common: a photographic memory. Gleason’s memory was so good that he not only memorized his own lines, but those of his cast mates. Both could read their scripts once then had the lines committed to memory.
He never liked to rehearse. They showed him cue cards. When he repeats his lines, or staggers, that's when he forgot his lines. Repeated lines gave the crew time to write the lines, show him, then he would say it. Sometimes he'd make them up.
I've only just discovered The Honeymooners. It's fantastic. If there's a golden age of US comedy, this must be a prime example. It struck me how like The Flintstones it was which I loved as a kid. I've since discovered that was no coincidence. Joyce Randolph is still alive (2023) which is just as amazing.
Joyce Randolph passed away yesterday, January 13, 2024, at 99yrs old. Apparantly she'd been in a Nursing Home, in NY State, suffering the effects of old age (per Wikipedia). She passed away in her sleep.
If you ever watch Looney Tunes they have a cartoon titled the Honeymousers. When l saw the title l got curious. I sat to watch. It was a replica of the Honeymooners but they were mice. They show Ralph with a pop belly & Norton with the hat. Maby you can find it on tube. It's cute.
I was born in 1960 here in Yakima Washington and my mom and dad used to love watching The Honeymooners and I got hooked on to watching that show too that's the reason why I like all the cast members
If they ever do the lost episodes watch it. There's one that l believe he sees a psychiatrist. He claims he's seeing double. Something to that sort. That everywhere Ralph looks he sees Norton and feels he's going crazy. I haven't seen it in a long time, but it's funny! A guy is seen who looks like Norton but it's not him.
OMG ! I'm 59 and grew up watching The Homeowners reruns. When I was a little kid I also loved The Flintstones because it reminded me of The Honeymooners. To this day, and forever The Honeymooners is and ALWAYS will be my absolute favorite TV show. I can't pick a favorite character or actor of the show because I love all four of them. I do give Jackie Gleason credit for his sheer talent in creating the show and it's characters "The Great One" did it flawlessly.
It's hard to say which of the characters of the Honeymooners were my favorite. I grew up watching the Honeymoons and continue to watch it each week and get a bang out of it as if I've watched it for the first time.
I looooove Honeymooners! 💕💕💕 Ever since I was a teen I was watching this warm and relatable show on tv late at night in 90’s. Great facts! Thank you. 😁👌🏻
I cried when I heard Jackie Gleason died. He's the only celebrity I ever cried over. I would be in bed at night and would hear my mother laughing hysterically out in the living room , of course she was watching the Honeymooners.
Loved it, must see TV back in the day, we never missed an episode. Ralf Cramden was my Favourite. When Neil Armstrong landed on the Moon, he found Alice Cramden there.
Born in Miami 1950, my Big treat was eating by myself, I was a big boy you know. was Saturday night in front of the TV behind a TV tray eating Hotdogs and Baked beans no bun of course... watching the Honeymooners I watched the show till it's ending and was beside myself when I heard Jackie Gleason was moving to Miami to do a live show every weekend.. I watched him and his variety show faithfully, I still watch the Honeymooners on MeTv, he was the greatest, and away we go...
I love Jackie Gleason used to perform in Miami Beach they have the Jackie Gleason Theater there Lincoln Road he used to go and perform for the elderly retired old Jewish people and they loved him he was always funny to the day he died God bless his soul may he rest in peace
I was young and enjoyed the show. I laughed along with everyone else. Remembering all these shows, brings special memories that were forgotten . Thank you
Was a huge fan of Jackie and friends from the get go back when television was new. He just put together a fantastic show, back when it was all done live with bonifide talent. No canned laugh track here: this was real comedy done with perfect timing and the truthfulness that comes from spontaneity. Jackie knew he couldn't have done it without them.
I LOVED The Honeymooners as kid watching it in the 80's I loved the entire cast of actors Art Carney was my favorite and Jackie Gleason was big 🌟 star! It's funny as many times as I watched The Flintstones I didn't quite pick up on the similarities both great SHOWS!!😃
I enjoyed watching The Honeymooners when it first aired in the 1950's! I still watch the reruns at present! No matter how many times I watch the episodes of The Honeymooners, I still laugh, no matter how many times I watch them! Even though all the cast were funny, I have to say that both Jackie Gleason and Art Carney were the funniest!
@@FactsVerse This is a difficult question to answer, because all the episodes were hilarious! Out of all, I have to go with the one where Ralph, Alice, Norton and Trixie travel by train to go to a Racoon Club convention, I think in Chicago. Ralph and Norton find out that they are on the wrong train, which is traveling in the opposite direction from where they should be going!
You all are forgetting the episodes on Dumont early on and then on CBS with Jackie Gleason's shows from 1963 until 1970. Jane Kean, Sue Ann Langston, Shiela MacRea and even Elaine Stritch played the roll of Alice Kramdon or Trixie Norton......a number of other Actors had that role...45 Episodes with Jane Kean as Trixie and 46 Episodes with Shiela MacRae as Alice.....I always think of Shiela MacRae as Alice first, from watching when I was growing up
I just love them all but my fav is Ralph and Norton. I grow up in NY in the 70-80s watching them bc we only had one tv and what ever mom had on we watch. I just love it! Thanks for sharing!❤
I’ve watched The Honeymooners since I was in my early teens on wpix channel 11 at 11:30, NY channel in NJ. and still at age 61 ( today actually) I still go to bed watching The Honeymooners. Classic. Talent like these shining stars doesn’t exist anymore.
I've been seeing this show on and off ever since I can remember. It will always occupy a place in my heart. In fact I have such a strong sense of that little apartment that it feels like I've actually been in it. Feels like home to me!
Thank you for the well done and researched video. Time flys so make the most out of it. Fave one? They all had their own story but the Christmas one where love is the real reason for the season. I remember when Art C. did a Christmas special where he had this wish and it was granted where he could give gifts from his 'magical bag' even though that time was brief and even though the 'bag's magic' was gone the true sprite of Christmas or how ever one wants to celebrate a 'holiday(s)' the meaning of love and careing stays the same. Take care. 🤘👻💖
The honeymooners was before the Jackie Gleason show. When the Jackie Gleason show, a variety show ran, they added a segment with the honeymooners in it… In that Version of the honeymooners, Alice was played by Sheila McRae.

It’s sad enough that so much of the cast of “Honeymooners” have died, but it’s especially heartbreaking when Joyce Randolph doesn’t make it to her 100th birthday! RIP
Big fan of the show. I own every episode including a couple of the “lost” ones. Ed & Ralph together was comic gold. The episodes A Matter Of Record and ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas are 2 of my favorites.
Inform the audience of that lost episode where Ralph feels he continues to see Norton everywhere he goes How he can't get rid of him. That Ralph goes to see a psychiatrist. I don't know the title right now. Many they may give it now with the holidays coming.
Classic TV. Still watch every one of the 39 episodes. I loved all the four main actors and many of the supporting cast actors too. But Ralph is my guy !
Audrey Meadows was only the second actor on that show to receive re-run residuals. Jackie Gleason was the other one. Her brother was a lawyer, and he negotiated her contract. Following the show, she was a BANK DIRECTOR !!! why doesn't that surprise me = she always seemed like a "smart cookie" RIP Audrey.
I met Art Carney's half brother in a restaurant once. I was sitting at a table close by him and turned to him and said " You look like Art Carney" He said " I should I'm his half brother."
Both Jackie Gleason and Art Carney were hilarious with their comedic timing😂😂😂 Ralph would always yell at Norton for his stupidity and always taking his time to do anything😂😂😂 "Come On" was one of his trademark lines😂😂😂 That and "Bang, zoom" and "hamana, hamana, hamana"😂😂😂
Norton was the best. The show had come and gone before I was born in 73, but the laughs stuck around. Art played the role perfectly. Harry and Tonto was a great movie as well.
The HoneyMooners were great. Didn't realize I watched it with my parents as a toddler, in the early sixties, and as adolescent on reruns in late sixties. Always loved Ralph's line to Alice. " One of These Day's Alice Pow Right in the Kisser ". Thanks Verse's Facts, for the memories. 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦👍👍👍🙌🙌🙏🙏
Watched many episodes last night, fighting a cold and fever it helped me get through the night. Ralph and Alice were my favorite characters, however Trix and Norton were both amazing actors.
That show I used to watch as a kid teenager and as a young adult and always have loved watching it ! Jackie Gleason was a funny man and made me laugh so did Art Carney ! Liked Audrey Medows too !
My favorite is Ed Norton Ed Norton in my opinion is the funniest of the cast the way he drives Ralph crazy when he tries to do just a simple things that takes him forever like shooting pool to name one thing
It's very rare to find all characters in a show likable. All four characters in Honey Mooners are talented with great acting skill & hard to choose one over the other. All of them are my favorites.
Yeah The Honeymooners is still one of the greatest comedies ever. Writing this in May 2022 and believe Joyce Randolph (Trixie) is still with us at the age of 97.
I love the Honeymooners! In the 60's my grandmother & her daughter Daisy bought a house in Peekskill. My uncle Raul Sr. retiring from the military, he and his family went to live with them. A neighbor came, introduced himself. They became friends. I was about 9. Pete invited Raul Sr. to go with him to visit a friend, have a few beers, that he would like him. Raul Sr. went. Approaching the house, Raul Sr. asked Pete where was he taking him? Pete stated he wanted him to meet his friend, that he'll love his personality who has a sense of humor. Arriving to the house, Raul Sr. found the house to look like a flying saucer. When the man opened the door, it was Jackie Gleason! Raul Sr. called his wife to tell her he was having a few beers with Jackie Gleason & Pete. So, he'd be coming back late. Raul's wife swore he was clowning around & drunk. When she told to my aunt Daisy, Daisy felt it was a possibility because Jackie had a house near by. Raul Sr. returned later & described the house, how friendly & nice Jackie was. How they got along. How the house was big. My mother had told me yrs. later while working in Flower 5th Avenue Hospital her boss gave her papers of a deceased patient. A relative was coming for his belongings, to take him to the room and have him sign papers. When the man came, she was surprised, it was Art Carney. His brother had passed away. Yrs. later when l was working in the hospital l checked the file because Mom & Raul Sr. had a tendency of making up stories. When l checked the files l saw it was true. Art Carney did loose his brother. After Jackie passed l took Mom to the tribute. She told me not to ask Art Carney to do the Huckle Buck because he had told her he had issue with his hip. Months passed & l read Art was wounded in the war & a bomb exploded near him. He became deaf in one ear and a part of the shell from the explosion got too near to his spine. Doctors were only able to remove so much, to prevent him from becoming paralyzed. Someone asked him to demonstrate at jackie's tribute, how do you play golf? Art demonstrated right to the script. Everyone got a kick out of it! Just before Audrey Meadows passed, l met her at Sam Goodies. I went with a Honeymooners Tee Shirt l had bought at Jackie's tribute. Mom had bought me a Raccoon Hat! Women were thanking Audrey for sticking up for women! When l approached Audrey, she looked up, saw what l had on, plus the hat. She said, " What the?" I interrupted her and said, "hey we woman were bound to get into those Racoons!"She laughed! She autographed a photo l have of the four of them in the kitchen. I scolded her when l saw a cigarette lit.She said, "Ah! Don't worry about it." I answered, Forgive me but, we don't t want to loose you too! Plus l love you playing the Mother in Law on Two Close For Comfort, a typical Mother n law!" Then I gave her a kiss on the cheek. As l was leaving l called out to her, Miss Meadows, Miss Meadows!" She looked up over her glasses said, "yes!" As l was leaving, l said, "Pins and Needles, Needles and Pins, A Happy Woman ls A Woman who Grins!" I then waved the Racoons tale and said, "Woo, Woo! She laughed!! Finally, l wrote to Joyce Randolph and she wrote back. I sent her a copy of the photo l took of Audrey and me, so she'd have an idea who wrote to her. I have it on my wall. It's also on facebook. The photo came out nice. I asked a man behind me if he could take the photo twice, in case the first one doesn't come out right. Thank God l did. I have a copy on my wall. It looks beautiful. Audrey looks gorgeous! God Bless her!
One is, "Young At Heart. I love when Ralph roller skates & falls. I recall when those skates had wooden wheels. They were hard! They were not soft at all! Not like today, they are so much softer. I forgot to mention a bus driver gave me the bus driver hat they made in jackie's memory. It has an emblim that says "Jackie Gleason Depot. I also have a shirt of the Honeymooners one which l wore when l met Audrey, another with Norton wearing his hat. People smile when l wear it. Some laugh. My mother gave it to me. Then l have another with all of them on, it's a black shirt. Then one in white with the golf scene.
I always wanted to know the singer who sang the Hucklebuck and the record company. I had asked Joyce Myers but she said a lot was lost so long ago she couldn't recall the person. If you find out let me know. I'd appreciate it. I love the song.
