I switched from white rice to barley rice with differents beans , and eating more vegetables and cut off soda and junkfoods but i still gain weight? Why is that? Is it because of diabetes medicine that i am taking now? I gained 2 kilos. I am taking the medication for a month now.

I have been battling with pcos the insulin resistance type and also diabetes 2 since I was 18, I am now 29 and my A1c was 11.5 and sugars 400s to 300s. I’m Japanese and I eat a lot of veggies, but I’m just so stuck and only keep getting worse as I age.
I totally relate. One of the problems I've had with the PCOS and going plant based is that we really aren't supposed to eat soy. Soy is a know hormone disruptor and can specifically affect our estrogen levels.

Im 30 yrs of age i was diagnosed with prediabetes on decemeber 2018 ever since ive tired keto diet got my A1C to 5.7 but i still excerise every day and stay away from all sugary foods sometimes. Glucose spikes after eating are seen in a healthy person _ what isn't healthy is when the glucose stays in the blood for hours, people with diabetes have almost constant high blood sugar if they don't take insuline injection. Also they have high blood sugar in the morning before breakfast (I don't know if that's normal or not)
Glucose monitor helps greatly to eat a diet that helps have more stable energy throughout the day, if used correctly. if you aren't diabetic but pre diabetic and/or if you are a ' sugar addict ' struggling with fatigue and highs and lows of energy and sugar cravings, go see the advice of the Sugar Revolution/Sugar Goddess, it's very good. As a former '' sugar addict '' i truly approve her message. (But i wouldn't eat desert at every meal of course. 😅 3 desert a week is more than enough. I don't even need more than 1 desert a week now that i don't have such a sweet tooth.
