The thing i really want to tell you is you cant understand this song unless you have watched the rest of the music videos, all of the MV'S together is like a puzzle piece
Now that I’m rewatching this, I think my main issue with the music video is that it just lacks….so much energy. A lot of times energy is conveyed with editing (edit: & on-set directing & filmmaking, camerawork, pre-planning shots so they’re cohesive)-shorter shots, match cuts, shots matching the lyrics-and there’s just too many long, slow shots that kinda drag the energy down. There’s a ton of pretty aesthetics but they’re not being enhanced or accentuated by the editing. Also pet peeve that Niki’s feet aren’t “hanging” when he’s in the chair when they took such pains in Given-Taken to have him stand on an angled green-screen box to make him look like he’s actually floating 🥲

You explained exactly what I thought the first time I saw it. Enhyphen had such high quality mvs in the past that... you clearly see a "meh" in this one. Also many takes could be better... they really don't looks like a mv. And it's a bittersweet experience because the song is AMAZING
It's really disappointing... every time I look at Sacrifice MV, I always automatically think about how this mv could be as better as that one... that's frustrating!
I thought it was only me who thought that the editing and the shots could have been better. SO cool to hear and see other videographer/editor's opinions on this! Also I thought that the set lighting was lacking and off. I also think that they could've gone wider with the lens choices. I think that would mitigate their choreo to look less awkward lol. Cause their wide shots aren't wide enough imo. The only thing that stood out to me was the group choreo with the girl dancers. The lighting and color grade were immaculate.

Honestly ngl didn't expect this reaction, they definitely have better MVs. The Trailer for this album and the Sacrifice MV are top tier❤️🔥 The trailer alone has action, sick effects and storyline so good, hands down it's a movie!! The Sacrifice music video is definately where the other part of the budget went. Everything is *chefs kiss* I absolutely agree with all the contructive criticism. They could've done better transitions. I think the main problem was not only that, but picking the right shots for the dance scene like you said. Also this is the first MV they traveled abroad to film, this was shot in Poland. So maybe that was a bit hectic and they weren't there for long either, I believe so it was probably in a rush, time crunch😬 The Concept Trailer and the Sacrifice (Eat Me Up) Mv were both in Korea so, that was probably a huge difference. They still slayed with the song and outfits 😌👏👑 *Fun Fact: the choreo for "Come here and get some...Come over and Bite Me" was done entirely on that section by Niki aka flying chair guy (my personal fav scene, he looked so good!😍), youngest member (maknae) and ultimate dance machine. In a hotel room while on tour in the Philippines with just the demo.💯 Anyways back to my points😂: The jump cuts weren't the most clean at all. I didn't really feel the caatle/ruins shots, they were kinda nonsense to me. Like I'm here to see them not the landscape😅 My favorites where the red and black crossfades and the chest board transistion 10/10. And the flying chair bc I have no idea how they manage to make it look that good and so real, like- WHAT!?😯❤ Thank you Jordan for the reaction, be sure to check out the Dark Blood Concept Trailer, Sacrifice (Eat Me Up) MV and the Paradoxxx Invasion MV. Also as a editor i love Enhypen music videos but the "bite me" music video needs a bit more besides the close ups and open space haha. The Blue light shots were defintley my fav but then the outifts were a bit to clunky but you nailed that explination Jordan!

OMG YESSS FINALLYYYY JORDAN THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO THIS 😭 I definitely feel like they could’ve done so much better with the MV. Like the budget for the outfits is crazy, they went all the way to Poland to film the MV and we didn’t get (almost) anything story/lore wise. 😭 Would love to see your reaction to their Concept Trailer for this comeback and for the Sacrifice (Eat Me Up) MV that came a week or two ago for the bside. those are definitely 100 times better in production and directing! Edit: I will have to add that it’s not okay to call Enhypen “sloppy” or “non-synchronised”, that’s just wrong and not Enhypen at all. The choreo was so damn amazing, it’s new and Ni-ki worked very hard on in thank you. Enhypen is and will always be one of the most crazy talented and synchronised groups with an amazing team backing them up. The MV could definitely always be better but calling them such names to a group who’s so damn well known and highly praised, may I add, for having creative choreography, great dance lines and stupid synchronised; is weird. I know you haven’t reacted to them in a long time and you have definitely lowered the amount of youtube content you’ve put out in the past year or so, but the thumbnail is very clickbaity 🤥 and some of your choice of words were not the best. They went to Poland then underutilized the castle setting😭😭😭 wandering through the random hallways, what even……it bums me out so much! And the lack of lore too-Enhypen excels at lore and their best videos are narrative based imo (Given-Taken, Drunk-Dazed) like even Blessed-Cursed at least had a super tight and cohesive aesthetic with fantastic editing even if it barely touched on the lore
I believe he was talking about the editing and jump-cut in the middle of the choreo which made the shot and continuity feel out of sync, they're all insanely in sync in the comeback stages and stuff but in the MV, the cut from wide to close makes it feel not as in sync anymore, hope that makes sense.

The mv is just simple because they explained part of the story in their concept trailer and the other part is in Sacrifice mv. This song is simple not like their previous comebacks i feel that's why they went towards simple mv. Personally i really enjoyed it and the song is really addictive

This video was hugely saved by the guys, dancers, choreo and most of all, the song. The video wasn't as amazing as most ENHYPEN videos but I didn't hate watching it because I love the song so much
Please check out their Concept Trailer (8min Short Film) and the Sacrifice MV for this CB too! That is where they clearly put the money and effort. The Bite Me MV is obviously the worst one they have done so far. I am an Engene and this is my favorite album but the majority of us Engene were disappointed with the Bite Me MV too. Especially the casual sweats and random chandelier part...

The fact that i was so excited when i first watched this mv was because it was filmed in poland where i live but now that i watch it it's good but you know (I'm not saying it's bad) Just wanted to share.
It must also be taken into account that the company did not give enough support to the comeback, they even thought to delay it to 2024, which the members did not want to delay any further, they hadn't comeback for almost 11 months, I feel that this problem also had to do with the dispute between cjenm and hybe, for which enhypen stayed in the middle without support from either of the two companies, if it wasn't for heeseung who offered to be the composer and producer of the song as well as the creative input of the MV, "bite me" wouldn't even have come out this year.
If this one wasnt your fancy, none of ours really either their b-side sacrifice was a much better mv! Including the storyline, so definitely check that one out if you want a better music video reaction for this album!!!

i'm SO glad you reacted to this mv! when i watched this mv, i just knew something was off and that it could've been better. it felt very basic. comparing to the concept photos and videos, this mv is nothing. the concept is very cool and majestic like the vintage vampire thing is so cool, so i hoped the mv would've been like that! anyways, now i understand why it felt so bland. ty for the reaction! also, i hope you react to sacrifice (eat me up) by them!
ik it’s super annoying, the concept trailer and the concept photos were some of the best things I’ve ever seen in kpop, and then they give us this mv 😑
the one thing that bothers me about this music video - Niki is obviously sitting on a green screen box so his feet are firmly planted and it looks unnatural to be floating. if his feet were dangling i wouldve been more sold on him floating in the air.
whoever is doing the the lighting for enhypen's mvs never misses, they've done it again everything in the main castle dance shots goes so incredibly hard, I'm such a sucker for cool sidekits and rim light AND THAT FLOOR i just!! they utilize the acloves in the castle so well to frame the wider shots by jsut lighting them differently and the stone picks up and reflects the warm color they chose so beautifully i could go on forever the cold white camera-mounted light in the ballroom dance shots (Is it a ballroom?) feels so crisp and retro at the same time, it make it feel nostalgic? while still being harsh and sort of otherwordly in an uncomfortable (/pos) way AND THEN when it's the same intensity but a slightly different color temperature in the castle dance shots?? I'm on the ground also EPIC final shot like come on multi-part cue!!

Hey Jordan, I recommend you to analyze ONF's "We Must Love" MV. It's absolutely the history itself, telling a lot about ONF's universe. Additionally, I have to say that the editing is one of the best I have seen in a K-pop MV.
personal petpeeve: i feel like the red-white flashes at 4:33 weren't.. excecuted that well? i didnt feel any _oomf_, so to speak. especially since he was already pretty visible with the red background, and the white didnt add a lot. also, the flashes weren't on beat, or anything; it just flashed suddenly? it felt underwhelming

It's really true that this MV was a 'meh' because there were so many good dance Shorts closeups they could've used at certain parts but they didn't like Heesung's 'joounnaaa' the dance move there is fire. I did feel kinda uncomfortable watching it because just like you said there were random cuts. The set could've been used better. When the song has a strong MV then the song feels even better. Their performance video on 'STUDIO CHOOM' was shot and edited better than this. I mostly watch that only when I wish to see the song visually cause the MV isn't really bomb.

dude I’m a huge enhypen fan but I totally agree with you on this one. there were some cool shots but overall this mv felt so lazy. which is really surprising considering the concept trailer that was released before it clearly had so much effort put into it. for some reason hybe has been so lazy with enhypen’s title track music videos ever since blessed-cursed imo. it’s hard to believe this is the same group with masterpiece mvs like given-taken, drunk-dazed, fever etc. although at the same time the mvs for their bsides are still being beautifully done (if you’re up to it, I’m sure a lot of people would love to see you react to the mv for sacrifice from this same album). idk belift is on something man… anyways, thanks for this reaction, it was super informative. ateez’s new title track came out yesterday and I’m super excited for your reaction to that mv lol
It’s interesting you mentioned their hand movements were out of sync because it makes me wonder whether they rushed the filming for this mv, just like how they did with sacrifice eat me up (they filmed it a day before their comeback until 5AM … despite having a 10 month hiatus). I’ve been so confused by belift (their label) this comeback … the execution of the album has been all over the place. The external producers of bite me delivered an unsatisfactory song - to the point where the cb would have been delayed, and apparently all the other hybe producers were stumped until one of the enha members decided to take over the song (resulting in a very controversial rap part - I personally don’t mind it but the amount of people saying it ruined the song for them is .. wow). Enhypen had such a long hiatus - the point where jungwon made fun of having too much vacation time -, but it seems as if the mvs were all rushed. I just don’t understand why the agency spent so much money to fly enha to Poland to film at a castle - only to barely show it in the MV. I feel like they got a certain budget, but didn’t know how to use it effectively. It sucks because the potential for dark blood was there, it just had the wrong execution on multiple fronts.

I sincerely think how the mv doesn't have much editing or story telling is because they wanted the draw of the mv to be the choreo. This is one of my favorite songs by enhypen, definitely has some of my favorite choreo and some of my favorite visuals and looks. But the mv is definitely not the best mv of enhypen, but i definitely think the story telling was done before this from their 8 minute long short film trailer.
