Matthew, you're saying, What's this video all about? How can people who work hard every day possibly be guilty of the sin of sloth?
Well, I'm glad you asked.
The reality is that there's more than one kind of sloth.
(And no, I'm not talking about the cute, fuzzy animal that moves at the speed of my children when looking for their shoes when we're late for Mass.)
Yes, lying on the couch all day eating bonbons watching reruns of "The A Team" is a type of sloth - and that's what most people associate with this deadly sin (particularly because of "The A Team":).
But sloth can also mean neglecting our duties to God.
And being too busy - even with other important duties - can actually lead to this kind of sloth.
Yes, we all have important things that need to get done.
But when we start to prioritize them over our duties to God - that's when they become a problem.
In fact, that's when they can become spiritually deadly.
So in today's Sainthood Snippet, I discuss:
-This lesser known kind of sloth
-How easily we can fall victim to it
-And why it's so important to fight this temptation and give our spiritual lives the attention they require.
