Everton were league champions in 1987, Bill Kenwright (their chairman) got on the board in 1988. Since then has been the demise of Everton. And when he took over in the mid 90s, there was ZERO outward investment. Everton deserve investment after 20+ YEARS of zero investment.
Exactly! I don't think we can win another title with the same owners and the same ceo. The club is in a mess from top to bottom. Fergie's brilliance made us a little ignorant towards these issues
@@adobdebunkology5671 yes but you didn't include the fact that Peter Johnson was the owner and he asset stripped the club, refused to invest and allowed the club to wither to the point of near bankrupcy. When Kenwright took full control over Everton were we were close to death financially, and although unable to bring the finances of a billionaires to Everton Kenwright together with Moyes slowly turned the club around, kept us in the division, and returned us to the top end of the league with almost no financial backing. Kenwright then found someone who could take the club on but who would also actually care about the club and fans, rather than just selling to some soulless twat like Mike Ashley or the Glazers. Kenwright should get a better rap than he does.
@@jamescullen6973 was in the middle of a a manager change even though yes, it was dreadful. But I hope you feel good knowing you gained a lot out of that comment. Why watch the vid anyway? Just to mock Everton?
My exam question paper (to be held tomorrow) originally appeared at the Athletic with 7 days free trial. I missed the free trial and now on course for C 😭
I'm not asking to be a movie star or marry a model but please, THE ATHLETIC can you bring me a non-defaulted student loan payment plan or at least a halfway decent FA Cup run? Thanks!
FBM Records most Everton fans where quite positive after the signings heading into the season. We still knew we needed a couple of players but I don’t think any of us expected champions league, we spent a lot of money yet again so media just think we will do well because of that.
FBM Records we should’ve been given the standard of the league this season and the signings we made. Been unlucky with injuries etc but it shows how bad of a job Silva done, losing most of our away games without scoring and Sheff Utd/ Norwich both 2-0 at home🤦🏼♂️
Not to sound defensive, but what evidence do you have to say Pochettino wasn't interested. His whole "when I say I am open" interview suggests he wasn't approached at all contrary to speculation.
Why the fk is everton paying a manager who has already been sacked? Only in football can you find such a thing. Wish I get that too from my previous job.
So. Everton have looked for vast styles of managers. Simione Ancellotti, Allardyce, Marco Silva, Unai Emery not one manager similar playing style to the other. Only commonality among them being football managers. Seems like Moshiri goes all in and bites the tongue eventually. Marco Silva brought in Richarlison for a hefty sum, Allardyce/koeman brought in siggurdsson at a point of time there were 6 first team no. 10s at this club. It doesnt look really smart from them.
Everton need a much higher class of player. Their squad is riddled with high priced bang average players. They are still small time compared to the truly big clubs until that happens.
Domenico tedesco/eddie Howe/ Lee Johnson would've been the ideal managerial candidates for everton. Don't let Carlo's CV fool ya'll. He is a very very good man manager and has a hands off approach which allows his players freedom within a structure. I honestly don't think that this is what Everton needed. Those young coaches I listed earlier would be very good prospects to develop Everton into a much better team
He wanted a world class manager and immediately recruited Sam Allardyce. O.....K Have you ever noticed the Athletic have a lot of sources which who don't have names? That's journalist-speak for "stuff we made up".
Considering only Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have more league titles than Everton, then that probably answers your question as to where Everton should be . Especially when you consider that both of those clubs only overtook Everton in the Premier League area following Evertons last league title in 1987.
Mícheál Flaithbheartaigh That means nothing. Blackburn Rovers have a won a title, doesn’t mean they “should” be duking it out with the likes of Liverpool and Man City
@@Ese96Agoaye Blackburn aren't a premier league team tho everton are so mentioning them is stupid we should be challenging for sixth atleast that should be a minimum
I can't see Ancelotti performing with those players. Everton is a top 10 side at best at this moment, Manu and Arsenal are way bigger with better players and more money available, although Arsenal is a different case. Still Ancelotti will never succeed with Everton with such a huge competition for top 4/6
@@bluegoon4206 get real mate you are shite and teams like Leicester or Wolves are better than you. Just because you spend money likecrazy it does not guarantee you success not like it used to with Chelsea or City
