The bare minimum prices you'll find in Switzerland. (Yes this means budget hotels, and a fast food style restaurant) Not a nice meal or nice hotel - those would cost way more.
Right? People complaining about Switzerland but they forget such places as CA,NY and Miami, im Floridian and I live close to Orlando area per person is around $20-25 and not forgetting the tip
I now live in Zurich, moved from London and the cost of living is absolutely worth it, Switzerland is stunning the food is great and it’s clean and safe.
I’m planning to visit Zurich next week, can u recommend some interesting place which I must visit? The same with transport, how to save money for traveling around? Manyyy thanks 🌸
I'm living in Switzerland Luzern for over 13y now and comparing to other countries its really expensive but it is safe and everything it's good quality 👌🏾
I’m actually going to Switzerland tomorrow from Australia and I’m super excited although I go there every 2 years, since the “pandemic” I haven’t been for 4 years. Cant wait to see family, eat their fabulous food and look at their wild life. If you haven’t gone I would 100% recommend it
This is nothing compared to the prices in Hawaii, we spent about almost $1,000 a night at a resort in Honolulu this past summer and although it was expensive we would do it again 😅
If you want to you can easily spend a few thousand a night in some luxury hotels during skiing season. There really is no upper limit in Switzerland, she obviously stayed in a reasonable range.
I’ve lived in NYC my entire life and all of this seems so inexpensive by comparison 😳 I guess it really comes down to what you’re used to shelling out for these things on a daily basis.
@@InspectahReese I think the prizes she is listing are for cheap take out food, but a Pizza is usually around 26 minimum, without anything with it. Or maybe noon meal plans can be around that but dinner is def 50 or more per person. Also I think some things in NYC are more expensive than in Switzerland, the price range is just not that big here, there is not a difference like West Virginia vs Florida in prices. And we don't pay more than 10% tips, the wage of a waiter is 4k per month x13 so no need for tipping unless you loved the service a lot.
@@MrsStrawhatberry not sure what premium pizzas you eat in Switzerland, but we usually pay 16-22fr.- per pizza, which is quite reasonable. And you should still be tipping your waiters in Switzerland;)
@@Zanosius1902 at an Italian restaurant it's around that prize, if you buy Pizza at a Turkish Döner place it's cheaper. We don't tip 20%, we tip 10% or less depneding on the service and only if we eat in.
Here in Switzerland, prices have risen just as much as anywhere in the world. So, life in Switzerland is no cheaper than in Canada. Believe me, I am from Edmonton, AB Canada and have been in Switzerland for work since February. So, I know what I'm talking about.
Edmonton is cheaper than vancouver still. But I think things are rising everywhere still. Only a few short yeara ago we could get places in the suburbs or further out in bc. Including groceries. Now it's almost same price across the province regardless of location.
@@pixie3393 Yes, that's true. These crazy price increases, which are currently taking place worldwide due to self-induced inflation (all over the world), can be owed to these Klaus Schwab pupil’s (politician puppets).. Everything is so wanted to enforce their agenda... But all this will soon come to an end. The truth is now slowly coming to light. People worldwide wake up and fight back. You no longer accept everything so easily and can no longer be manipulated by the deep state.
pro tip: switzerland is more than zermatt, st moritz, and interlaken oh and of course its going to be expensive if your staying in the literal most touristy town in the country 🤦♂️
Thank you fpr this comment. I really hate those videos. 30$ (about 27sfr) is quite a lot for a meal, a pizza margherita is usually about 17-20sfr. The touristic places are just way more expensive than "normal" cities because people will pay it. I once saw a video where someone ranted about how expensive a croissant and a coffee are in Switzerland - and they went to Schober in Zurich. Which is probabbly the most expensive café in the most expensive city.
@Nina-lx8nr but even then switzerland is auite expensive compared to other countries. A lot of swiss people literally go across the border to do their shopping, because its cheaper there
@@callnight1441 yes, Germany is way cheaper - because we earn way more in Switzerland. So in relation to what we earn, living here isn't expensive. Sure everything costs more when everyone has more money.
@@Nina_kindimherzenAs a swiss person, YES. More expensive but we get paid quite a bit more than in other countries. Besides, a bunch of costs like school costs are covered by the gov.
@@Nina_kindimherzen I was actually pretty content with the prices shown in this video. You are right, they are still not accurate enough, but at least this video is much less inaccurate than so many other "How expensive is Switzerland?" videos. I am pretty sure I've seen the "Schober Café" video as well. Switzerland is simply a country that, at least if money is an issue, you need to visit low-budget style. You can stay at a hotel and go out to eat at a restaurant in less expensive countries. In more expensive countries, you can try to find a place to sleep that is less expensive than a hotel, and you can go grocery shopping to have something to eat. At least if the reason to travel to another country is that you want to see and experience that country and not in order to get pampered and have everything taken care of for you by hospitality and gastronomy workers. If I travelled to expensive Norway, I would stay in a crappy room and go buy my food at stores that I am told by locals is one of the least expensive ones. And if I travelled to an inexpensive country, I would spend a holiday that is "more luxurious" if I preferred to not always go on "as low-budget as possibly for country x" holidays. I've gone on poor people holidays and one or two "somewhat well-off" holidays as a teen and adult, and it's not like I felt an actual difference.
I am Swiss and have been to the US this summer (five times in total over the past 15 years) and I can say the prices are almost the same. Almost! The US is very expensive right now.
I'm sorry but you are so wrong. Switzerland is soooo much more expensive. Yes, the US is getting more expensive, due to inflation but it's the same situation in Switzerland.
Come to Auckland, NZ. The cost of our Burger King is the same. Unfortunately the cost of food in New Zealand is totally off the planet! The watermelons are currently on sale at $20 each for just a medium sized one. We are no longer the land of milk and honey.
Doesn't sound a whole lot different than the US. Or at least the average places around the US there's definitely higher and lower but $150 a night seems fairly on par for a mid-range Hotel with continental breakfast and basic amenities. And well yes you can go to cheap places to eat but for a full well-rounded meal at a non-chain(or sm town diner or fast food yet also not fancy) restaurant.... 20 to $35 per person not too uncommon🤷♀️ way everybody goes on about how expensive Switzerland was I expected it to be a lot higher. But then I guess if they're comparing it to travel in Asia yeah the difference is penny's to a dollar
Yeah actually swiss is expensive I’m born in Switzerland I’m citizen there something you need to know is that swiss is expensive but like me we have a good salary so we need like 10CHF you can find really tasty food with it if you are in the canpagne or if your in city you can at McDonald’s cheap as 8CHF hope it helps
Back in 1983, I was part of a motor-coach tour of western Europe, and Switzerland was the most beautiful country. I took a photo at the back of the motor-coach and felt home-sick. The mountains looked so much like our mountains. I live in B.C.
I am Swiss-German. Generally it's fair to say that every cost is double in Switzerland compraed to Germany, starting from a coffee to basic groceries, going to the cinema or accomodations.
I visit Switzerland often for hiking vacations and there are ways to keep the costs down. I once tried renting a car in Germany but it didn’t have a Swiss medallion sticker and I had to purchase it at the border. There go the savings.
I like your video!! Certainly its the most beautiful country in the world, I have been there also three times with my family. All those times we rented a car in Zurich Airport. I wonder where is the cheapest place to rent a car in Swiss? Where did you rent a car?
Very expensive but it was still my most favorite trip ever, I highly recommend going. Coming from Indiana which is a very flat and gloomy state, the mountain views and turquoise lakes were insanely impressive.
Switzerland its not that expensive if you take in count that the minimum wage its plus 3500 francs and the average wage its over 5000 😅 but oc it may be for tourist .. living here totally worth it , its one of the safest and most beautiful countries in the world.
Only been several times in Geneva for the Motor Show, so in a big city during a major international event. And actually was surprised it wasn't that bad. Nice hotel with breakfast for about €80 a night close to the lake, and quite a lot of cheap but good eateries in central Geneva. And public transportation is free when you stay in a hotel! Haven't been anywhere else in Switzerland so can't say anything about that.
How was parking in Switzerland? Our base is in Zurich (staying for 5 days) and we wanted to drive out each day to different areas in German Swiss like Lucerne, Bern, Interlaken area. How expensive is parking, what is traffic like in July, and what are fuel costs like? Debating on whether to rent a car or pay for a 4 day travel pass. We love the flexibility of driving and not having to wait for trains, some only coming every hour, there's 5 of us and 2 being my parents who have arthritis so can't walk to far. But if parking is far from sights then that negates the pro for car over train in that area
I don’t know when this video was made, or where the poster is from, but being from the U.S. , that’s cheaper than anywhere I can vacation here, and a he// of a lot more beautiful. I think I have a new bucket list item!! ❤❤❤❤❤
That isn’t expensive at all actually 😳. In Texas it’s like over $250 just to stay at the Omni hotel, so $150 a night to stay in Switzerland, I’d gladly pay any day 💰.
@@MuAlamedyExactly lol 😂. I heard to live in Cali it is very expensive actually so for them to say something like this please lol 😂. Sign me up for a flight to Swiss ASAP lol 😂. Have a great day ;) . Btw, and recommendations when visiting Cali? I know the wax museum and Pinks hot dogs and Roscos chicken and waffles I think that’s in Los Angeles etc, but any other cool places to check out? Even like in San Francisco? :) .
Beware if ur ethnic or non Anglo foreigner u may experience xenophobia n racism so stay safe and avoid this county if possible… it’s not worth it y’all
Those prices are normal here in Jersey. But for a person like me that loves traveling going to Switzerland is a bucket list thing so yeah I will save so I can spend the money.
Go with another couple. Share a two queen bed room. Stay in Zurich across the street from the airport. The airport has a train station. You must get the travel pass. There are large inexpensive grocery stores in the airport. Don't eat in restaurants. Don't take taxis.
Her prices are not realistic at all. You're in for a surprise if you go there thinking that it's not more expensive than California. For hotels, multiply the prices by 2, if not 3.
Türkiye is much expensive when youre working minimum wage atleast in Switzerland when you work minimum wage you still have abit of money left in türkiye food and accomodation is all of your money
high price's but with high wages mean its just normal if you live their. its amazing what a country can be like when the government is owned by the capital hill Switzerland should be the blueprint for all countries
30 bucks per person on a meal (depending were you eat) is targeted very low, like in a burgerking for a menu you already drop 20 bucks and we all know how cheap fast food is
