Thank you for the sub. I will consider the suggestion, but usually no one fish with no thumbing setting and expect distance. It's a thing for beginners to practice and if you want distance, you will always need your thumb. Especially bfs since most anglers would cast with the lightest tension set on the spool. Bfs is about light brakes, tension and it's important to know that it's also light casting.

Only for the super thin ones that you have to be careful with. but Yes people have said that but if you take both of those scenarios... both are user error... clearly! Properly set drag shouldn't be a problem as the drag and your rod tip will dampen the load. now unless you get spooled and you let it hit the end... sure that might still damage the spool.. but could have also been prevented by selecting the correct setup to fish. Now to mono... it can also still applies too! Mono stretches so it can put force even at rest. Ever seen the watermelon rubber band challenge videos? That is how people have described what happens with mono and super thin spools. So use either and just know what needs to be done: Set drag properly; don't pull directly on spool or rod tip (use a stick or something and wrap your line around it and use the stick to pull), and lastly.. use a spinning reel instead if you are targeting fish that runs.

Or just use a reel that won't break. Why a baitcaster if you have to baby it?

​@tomellendorf7236 these arent just baitcasters. They are BFS (Bait finese system) baitcasters. They are specifically set up for use with super light baits as a hobby grade, expensive alternative to spinning reels for people who just preffer using baitcasters.

Idk how your grip is on your baitcaster but try moving your ring finger up to the finger hold on your rod and rest your middle and index finger on the baitcaster when working your bait and reeling. Much more comfortable

Interesting, but no. The reason i don't is because I want to keep my spool weight low for my light lures. In addition, 10 lb mono is thicker than 10 lb braid. So we potentially won't have enough line on the spool Now if we play with heavier lures and perhaps a slightly deeper spool.. Perhaps it could be something neat to see! I like 8 strand carrier as it's usually smoother through the guides for long cast of heavier lures. But I stick to 4 strands because it's stronger and thinner than 8 for the UL stuff.

Probably not that much distance for BC reels, but for spinning. Thinner lines are always better. I havent spend enough time with it, but last time I used it... color faded fast at the end.

Keep in mind that braided line are light. So if u comparing to another braided line, it wouldn't be that much difference.

@rawrfishing you know. I'm left handed and rather a right handed caster. I thought it was just muscle memory because it's a little harder to find left handed and most people use right so I just got used to using right handed. But if a right handed person is telling me the rather left. Now I understand why I like right

I think the better way is to use the more stronger and dexterous arm/hand to hold the rod as imparting lure motion to me is more important than reeling. But in the end of the day, it's certainly muscle memory! I also don't like swapping hands from casting and reeling. Not efficient at all given as we all get older... Less time to fish!

Yes. Thin line allows you to cast further for many reasons. One it's lighter. 2 thin diameter can be spooled on more line that thick. So thick line you run out faster as well as the spool diameter shrinks faster, meaning it will end up dispensing less linen per rotation. Note this is the same for spinning reels as well

You need a light flexible rod for smaller lures

Sorry I will not as I don't utilize spinning setups and the winner is clear. Spinning setups will always cast further given the right line diameter. This is also why no one uses spinning setups for real frogging setups in thick cover. Thick line reduces casting distance for spinning.

It's not mono. It's PE line at 8 lb test

The term weightless seems to confuse anglers. That The term applied to soft plastic that doesn't use weights added on. However, everything in the fishing world has a weight. This lure is 4.3 grams and have a weight at the bottom. Your question should be how am I casting such light lures using a bait Casting reel. That is simple... There are many size baitcasting reels just like spinning. The BFS class is the most finesse and some can go below 1 gram on UL rods. BC are lighter, more accurate and more efficient. Fishing slack line doesn't generate line twists unless it's from the lure itself. Spinning casts further in most cases, and typically easier to use.. With a huge draw back of line twists for certain style of fishing and lure choices. Drag on spinning reels can be more advanced... But advanced anglers uses their thumb as drag control for BC reels.

No one knows! I have compared the line with real Japanese lines, which are known to be thin and accurate and this kastking kastpro 13x finesse braid is miss labeled. It's thicker than what is advertised. I don't recommend as I don't know it's true rating

Depends where you are from. Shimano curado bfs is the reel and Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse is the rod. Check your local stores or Google it and see what may be selling them near your or would ship to u
