Karen needs to keep her distance. I'm not really all that approachable. LOL. But in all honesty, people should not be able to track a drone beyond VLOS. What's "good for the goose is good for the gander" as the saying goes. If they can't see it, what reason do they have to know it is there? (EDIT: Or who is flying it and where they are standing) That's not a rhetorical question.

These modules are VERY important for uhhh national security & junk.... So be sure to properly protect yours with thick layers of aluminum foil to protect it!!!

You actually think a Karen has the time or knowledge to even track a drone really. Only people tracking any air traffic are fellow enthusiast who dont care.

I was pretty much wondering the same why in the world would a Karen be sitting back with bated breath looking on a drone tracker to try to find somebody and harass them that's crazy.. they're probably hanging out at the park with nothing else better to do

I have a couple of tiny strap on remote ID modules for our drones. When they went on sale for less than $35 I put one on our cat's collar and turn it on when we take him outside in case he runs off. Is this wrong?

just get in there and clip the antenna so it doesn't resonate at the right frequency, stunting its range severely. Or don't that's probably illegal yeah don't do that in fact never do that I can't believe anyone would pretend to suggest that.

So with the Bluemark you can set it to 0 m reading distance.... now that sounds ideal! Kind of like remote ID without remote ID 😃

Love it, I have one just get it and set it up the way Keith describes in another video. Takes 10 minutes. Everyone goes with the cheaper ones. Just pay $10 more and be invisible! Do it RIGHT the first time. Also, look for firmware updates every year. Don't believe you can with the other cheapos!

I have had the Holy Stone since January,. Mine has always had the operator move a little. It is a feature not a bug. Don't complain. I like it just like it is. Keeps me from having to get in my car and drive to another location so if "Karen" does come looking for me I won't be there anymore, and my drone would have been in the air the entire time.Seriously though the Module is marking where it took off from, not the individual or their radio. You can move anywhere, it doesn't know. Honestly, I would never do that. I have no need to.

They are also helpful if you are parking in an unfamiliar area when you go sight seeing. Just turn it on and for the next 5 hours or so you can track your car down using your phone even if you get lost.

Does the DJI mini 4 pro have built in remote ID.....and is it broadcasting BOTH my location....along with my drone? It's under 250g and 100% recreational use....not registered.....

It will only broadcast RID if you use the larger batteries that take the weight over the .55 lbs. If you need to fly part 107 and NEED RID to transmit, then you will have to add a RID module if using the normal batteries. Stupid, but it is what it is.

Hi there, I hope you're doing well! Real quick, I had a few questions regarding how you keep the module on the drone itself. From your recommendation, I currently have the DB120. Do you use a double-sided glue Velcro thing or is this something else? if it is something else, would you please let me know how to secure it safely? Also, I was curious about how to register the module itself. Do I follow the same process as registering the drone? On a side note, I'm also looking for two extra batteries for my DJI Mini 2 SE. Would you happen to know a reliable place to get both? Thank you so much, and I hope you have a great day! :)

I tried a few different mounting techniques and ended up at the velcro technique, and if you're nervous about regular velcro use the "dual-lock" type, pretty strong type. Just don't get the cheap-o stuff and clean everything with an alcohol wipe first and you'll be fine. Yes, the module just gets added to your registration with the FAA. Any RID modules that can have multiple personalities? I only fly one aircraft at a time, but I'd rather not buy a second module, would like to swap it back and forth, but alas that appears to not be an option for 107 flight

You can swap the module between aircraft if flying recreationally, if flying 107 then a separate module is needed for each airctaft.

There are other remote ID modules out there. FT EZID and the mRID from Phoenix UAS. More FPV RID's but both can be a standalone if needed.

I depends, maybe. If in the US, AND flying recreationally only, AND following ALL the recreational rules (rules video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b3yQYl7eAeQ.html ) , AND the drone is less than 250g, then you do not need remote ID. If flying in the US and any one of the things mentioned are not true, then remote ID is needed on the drone, either a module like these shown or FAA approved standard remote ID built into the drone that is transmitting. As a casual recreational flyer, don't I want a RID that gives off the least signal strength while still remaining compliant? If so, then I want the Blue mark with AK or the Drone tag with the lowest signal. Also, does is matter the app? Is OpenDrone better than DroneScanner? What is more widely used by the general public?

HI, If your drone is below .249g and below and you are a flying recreationally, you do not need to worry about RID. If your drone is below 55LBS to .255g you will need to be RID compliant. I hope that helps.

@@kmoecub That is not correct, if your drone is over 249g it must have RID and be registered regardless if its for Rec or Comm use. All Comm use drones regardless of weight must have RID and be registered. And its not "Real" ID. Its "Remote" ID. "Real" ID is on your drivers license so you can fly on a plane.

This FIMI being used, the X8 pro, says it has remote ID (FIMI says so) but it does not. There is no Remote ID transmitting and no approved FAA DOC, so nothing to test. That's why I had two RID modules on this drone when testing the modules, 1 RID module being tested, the other was the one that is registered for the drone to keep it compliant.

Don't bother with the algorithm, just use the subscription tab. I turned off recommendations as they were all useless. I watch aviation and drone videos and was getting all sorts of things about woodworking and deer hunting, of which I've never had the slightest interest in either...

The Fimi X8 Pro says it has remote ID built in but it does not. That's why I had 2 modules on during the flights as I have it registered with the Bluemark add-on module.

@@AlienDrones FAA website say's the X8 model is approved. I think maybe you confuse not seeing the RID with an app meaning it doesn't have the Karen/FAA RID. Classic RID the FAA first pushed was a specific character length for ID. It seems the FAA figured out sticking to a set ANSI character length was silly since all the monitoring software has to do is spot a signal and decode which most radio digital software's do these days. If the Karen app's don't see it it is a good thing.

@@nightwaves3203 The FIMI X8 Pro still does not have remote ID yet nor does it have an FAA approved DOC. The FIMI X8 SE 2022 did just recently receive the FAA approval but not the X8 Pro that was used in this video.

6:40 On a positive note, Karen is assigned or named for widely used voice on GPS's like Garmin. John was used for the toilets (I went to the John). Its just a name. My sister Karen is fine with here name. I hope you can enjoy your name.
