Same here. I have no suppressor and it's not even SBR's it's in pistol form and I'm banging 6" plates out to 200 yards no problem. With open sights not even a red dot. I like the challenge of open sights. Test yourself. Old man eyes at 44 haha.

Yes, the bullets will definitely go the distance even though they are dropping in at that range. I have trained with Buck and pushed 5.56 rifles well past 1,000 yards... they are incredibly capable and only get better every year as ammunition, rifle components, optics, and other accessories continue to get more and more refined.

Criterion Barrels, Inc. training with him was an eye opener for me. Plus, he has an almost supernatural ability of picking windy places to shoot. Lol In Mattawa, Wa I seem to recall 30 knot full value at one point.

Thanks! The only rifle I can't use that thumb position with is my 6.5 Creedmoor AR. It has an unfortunate tendency to accidentally bump fire under recoil when I load up on the bipod and grip the rifle in this manner.

Not in this video. The accuracy is the same when shooting with and without a suppressor and the difference in muzzle velocity is negligible, typically around a 10-15 FPS increase with the suppressor attached. All of our barrels are set up for function with and without a suppressor.

Yes, in this case by 20 fps (with a .30 cal can attached)... negligible. A 10.5'' can still easily get out to 600 yards and further, can or no can.

Liz and Mike not much, slow moving round even in a 16inch. If he has body armor the hit might hurt but he’s gonna be alive. 3300 fps is the magic number for defeating body armor.

Even from a 16" it’s pretty bad. A weak punch if it hits the guys armor and a .22 caliber hole instead of the channels it digs from a 20". 20" wouldn’t beat the armor but it would still be enough to injure the guy.

Yes you’d be out of the fight if you were shot at distance with a 10.5" but it wouldn’t be nearly as debilitating as a full length rifle.

Honestly I’ve found that a heavier buffer if suppressed works. However, IMO the best way to shoot suppressed and not have to worry as much is to get an adjustable gas block and know your settings for each.

You're right, it's a bit over the top. We'll stick to voiceover audio or some quieter background music in future videos.

When I take my time with it I can normally generate .6-.8 MOA groups at 100 yards shooting factory match ammunition. With handloads I could probably shrink it down a bit further.

Any advice for someone looking for a budget offset mount? Want to offset a red dot. Budget 10.5 inch is what it’ll be on and paired with either a 3x9 or a 3x prism. Thanks for any help in advance!

I can say with confidence that a 10.5" offers sufficient ballistic performance to fairly consistently impact steel targets at 600 yards with a quality barrel and ammunition. Performance on organic targets at that distance is an entirely different topic of conversation. Once velocities dip, ammunition selection becomes increasingly important.

@@MrKadidle51 It would depend on shot placement but almost everyone would say "no". You're going to have zero fragmentation of any round, except maybe m855a1EPR, at that distance. You might still have enough energy to kill with a headshot or a shot in the high thoracic cavity but otherwise that would be a wounding shot that would likely be survivable with elementary field medical techniques and getting to a hospital within a reasonable amount of time. But you are likely to be able to have good enough shot placement to suppress an opposing force if you have your suppression principles lined up i.e. overwhelming firepower, a team moving into place to flank,...

I dont know of this helps but I also have a 10.5 psa upper and I sighted mine in at 50 yards and smacked a 6" target at 200 yards first shot o was always told to fight in at 38 yards but this guy told me to do the 50 and he was right

He was just seeing if he could make hits with that certain barrel length. Don't take it too seriously. I doubt thats how he has it set up. Now if you were going into a cqb setting, you'd be pretty damn happy to have a 10.5in barrel. Although the velocity is reduced, shorter barrels are more accurate due to less harmonics going down the barrel. I own 10.5inch Lwrc SBR with a eotech and magnifier/ suppressed and its an absolute tack driver out to 300 yards. If has enough energy to take down coyotes, which I use it for. Heaven forbid the days comes..If i have to take down a human, i'm pulling out the Repr with Nightforce. That'll put you down
