How far will a lure pull an animal?

Very well done Dale. My dad taught me n said when you can catch em without bait first then you can use it. Or location is key. Bait lure is frosting on a good cake. Not a miracle for bad practices. Excellent video as always. Thanks

Another great topic Dale. Number one is set location and you need wind current to carry the scent to the animal. If they can't see it or smell it, you can't catch them. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I think to sum this topic up you are referring to the area's Environmental Conditions at the time the animal is moving through the general location of the set, the condition of the attractor (bait or lure), along with the animal's condition at that time (not mention the animal species you have set for). Is this correct Dale?

You nailed it . Too many out there come up with stories what there Lures can do and some of them is what you said can not do . Many do not want to look for the location. Thinking they can just use a lure and think it will bring in the animals. I am glad you put out what is the truth.

Yes, location is the very 1st consideration BUT I’ve tested well over 100 lures & baits since 1971 and have determined that there are some inherent things that also need to be factored in to drawing coyotes to a scent as can be seen on my lure testing videos. Coyotes need to be in the MOOD! Yup, coyotes need to be in the mood or put in the mood to investigate when they contact your scents. If you think a coyote is always on the make, you’re wrong. You may be on location as seen in my videos but if you don’t have a scent that changes their “travel” mood, slaps them along side their heads and forces them to investigate the scent, they’ll do the coyote trot right on by! I’ve seen it many, many times on my testing videos. I’ve learned that there are far more lures & baits that can’t do that but there are a small handful that will. It’s the trappers job if they want to be constitantly successful to find out which ones will stop them and force them to investigate the scent. I’ve got a lot of video footage showing coyotes traveling by “on location” with heads up doing the coyote trot and unless you have a mood changing scent , keep right on trucking. Use a scent that slaps them along side the head and you’ll see those same “traveling” coyotes act like they ran into a brick wall!!! That’s right, stop them dead in their tracks, swing around and come to the scent. THAT is exactly what you want them to do!
