You and I share a difference of opinion on "Ready to hunt". My definition of ready to hunt, is backpack hanging from a hook or strap in tree, bow hanging from a bow hook from tree with an arrow knocked, hunting clothes all on. And I cannot stretch my legs like an agile monkey like you. LOL!!!! My comments are all in good fun. I use 18 inch aiders on on my hawk helium modified length sticks. I have only scaled a tree 3 times so far and I find myself not setting my sticks and saddle platform in the best places. I'm truly learning from your videos but wow do I suck at this. LOL!!! Thanks for your great videos. Truly appreciate them.

@@SamkoTradBow Went up the tree yesterday morning with my setup. Just went with three sticks and an aider. First time up I was just about 14' off the ground in the stand. I was thinking "Damn, I am short!" Next trip up I got more comfortable stretching the sticks out a bit more between each other, as well as the stand, and got up to 17'. I realized part of the trick is to use the stick to help pull myself up rather than just depend on reaching and stepping up with my foot between sticks. I'll practice a bunch more before the season officially starts here in Massachusetts. I also have a fourth stick if I should feel I need it.

Great demonstration. Be careful of your meniscus. I stopped using my fourth stick last year and went to three. now I use your technique on hanging my next stick strap on the stick you just hung. Much easier than having a string of sticks dangling off your belt knocking together as you go up. Observation, your knees at 90° angles and then powering all your weight on one knee ain't good for them. Take it from me I've had two meniscus surgeries.

I got a summit harness with molle loops all over it. Keep a pouch from eastern woods outdoors on the back of it with my tether rope in it. Keep linemans girth hitched to loop and use infinity loops to keep it out of the way. Have molle clips on each side of saddle. Get to tree take sticks off stand held on with gear ties. Keep the one with aider separate from other two. Hang it immediately. Put stand on back, tie rope to bow to harness. Hang other two sticks off harness. Deploy lineman’s and start going up. For me, the longest part is wrestling the stand but I’ve started leaving my straps hanging off the versa buttons so i can just loop one around the tree and get it kinda tight to hold it.

Great video. You did great on the climb and setup. Made it look easy. Couple things deterring me on this though. One you seem to be stretching it out and possibly you’re a bit taller than me( 5’7). Stand seems to be about a 1 star comfort rating ( very important to me ) . Seems like it will take a lot of climbing to get as good as you are( efficiency). I will have to time myself but I’m pretty sure i could make it 25’ up that tree in half the time with my summit viper.
@SamkoTradBow
@SamkoTradBow 10 месяцев назад
yet a climber will not work in 95% of the areas i hunt due to branches. and I will never set up higher than 18 feet ever again. I did 20-24 for a whole season and lost 4 deer to one lung hits from steep angles. the stand is very comfortable. I do all day 12 hours sits in this atleast 20 times a year. The efficiency comes with practicing with the same system over and over. I dont use different stands or different sticks or saddles. I use this system and climb over 100 trees a year.

Damn brotha flip your stand around when you’re carrying it on your back otherwise that thing will eat your head if you fall/trip. Put seat facing up!

Much prefer to carry it this way. Snags on everything seat up. Has to be down low. And I have fallen hundreds of times. Never had the stand hit me

With all due respect I just use my climbing stand 😎

Traditional bowhunters can not use climbers. we need to be in an exact spot. moving 10 yards to find a climber tree means we loose half our shooting distance.

Dang... watching this one makes me feel like I made the wrong choice in purchasing a climber.

Climbers are great if you have the trees for it

@@SamkoTradBow I'm in central / northern Wisconsin / Minnesota. I just recently moved here from out west. Most of my tree stand hunting experience is from down south. I had the Summit climber back then, but in the south you can find straight, limbless trees everywhere. I'm not sure about up here in the Midwest. Still figuring things out. Your channel has been an excellent resource.
