I met Tim Peake the other day and asked him about his time on the International Space Station. It was pretty interesting, he had a lot of valuable insights, I suppose as a result of the unique perspective of being so remote from the rest of civilisations. One of the things I asked him was what you could see of mankind from so far away; he said the most obvious signs were cities at night, but that it's a myth that you can see the Great Wall of China from space. He did however mention a narrow but unfeasibly long car of some kind, similar in proportions to a train, speeding around northern France at incredible speed. He asked his colleagues and mission control about it, but they were as perplexed as he was, and it remained a mystery. I just smiled knowingly, and shook his hand.
A lack of time for the factory team to settle down before starting a proper design fase before the car starts to be built and to be tested. You can't just take 8 moths to have a proper LM winner car from scratch without almost anything before that period. You would need a TON OF MONEY AND LUCK, which they didn't have so.... a lack of time and money. Original idea was fine, but with the bad management and luck of money and time to develop the car... it ended the way it did... its a shame
@@kieranodonnell640 I'm back here because I drove the car in GT7 last night and I realized that it would probably be really fast if Nissan adapted it for Hypercar.
As fun as that must be to drive, the amount of driver input required would make it a real handful over the duration of an endurance race. Great video as usual!
Those wheel arches make the track even narrower. Can you visualise an entire lap in your head.. Love how you know the corner names. Learning from Jim.. Took my two stroke kart out in the wet today.. First ever go in it. Crazy fun. Good time you made with this lap. Planted good to watch a couple times. I'll be there for real next summer. 5 min 23 sauber C9 and 4 min 59 F1... Simulated my PB's
dang this car is where I started with your channel at least for streams. It has fond memories in my mind. Great car, always fun watching you drive it with that iconic blue flame spewing out of the engine.
There’s a great documentary on amazon prime about that 2015 Le Mans. Nissan’s attempt was just abysmal, was deffo a brutal watch. Seeing Nico the Hulk take the chequered flag was pretty sweet tho
After watching you push on codemasters F1 to watching this, it's incredibly evident how different pushing in a better physics model sim is. Very entertaining thanks for doing this. For long time viewers, emotional attachment aswell.
It's funny how the weirdest things can put is on an emotional journey. Hope you're OK chap. Dr Seuss has it: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". Clearly a great set of memories for the ol' Nissan. Hope you take it around a few more tracks with us!
Such a fun car, plant the throttle to get it rotating, plant it deeper to straighten it out. Completely different driving experience and really put the size of your balls into perspective
I've said it countless times before, and I shall not hesitate to say it again - the enthusiasm that you have, and the sheer insane talent of being able to talk while driving (something I struggle to do in my farting little Polo at the best of times) is what I and literally thousands of others signed up and sponsored for. Long Live Long Boi
Even watching this car, I'm on edge as it slides and squeals and screams. The longboye is such a beast and watching Jimmy and GNS drive it for VEC was a really important part of my year. I tried to drive it in GTsport once and I was not worthy. The most ascended of boyes. Goodnight gtr-lm
Such an amazing concept. Shame it was only a concept, and never worked. Sadly, I wasn't around when you did the VEC in this, but I can feel that it's special to you. also rv around nordschleife pls
Finally unlocked the Longboi on Forza Motorsport 7. After struggling with it and cursing it in the silly pursuit challenge race, I took it out for an enduro at Le Mans - and completely fell in love. It is fast, it is weird, and it is fabulous. :)
Hey Jimmer, Long time Viewer here. I love your Videos and your dedication to simracing as you were the inititation for me to buy a Wheel and drive on my Computer. I wanted to ask if you have any Car decals planned in the making or so because i wanna decorate my 428i with a nice jimmer decal. Please Keep us entertained as you do now but also watch out for your own Health! If you Need a break we will understand it. Many hearts from Germany.
Is there any mod that gives the world's fastest mobility chair? Yes the wheelchair that can go 70mph. That'll be very interesting to watch on Nordschleife
Is this GT-R LM based on the URD Shiro PX1? I have that car for Assetto Corsa, but I modded it with an extra gear, for 6 gears instead of 5. I like 6 speed gearboxes most, but the more, the merrier, up to a point at least (Current F1 is a bit overkill with 8 gears...)
