The man in the hat should be meme in the rally community. Almost always the first person to arrive at the crash scene. And can anticipate before the crash happens, he is clearly very used to seeing cars about to crash. He deserves big respect!
Finnish man with hat and towrope is an ancient being. He's rumored to be the one who killed Karl the 12th and ended the Swedish empire. We are still researching his sphere of influence.
I have been involved in rally photography for almost 40 years and have been a co-driver for over twenty years. In recent years, the pilots have been 11-14 years old. I understand if the car can't stay on the road. As a bystander or in the co-driver seat. Experiences. The truck in 7:26 is from the favorite class of Estonian rally fans. Old Soviet GAZ51. Crazy machines and crazy drivers. Fences, bushes, poles, trees, traffic signs have disappeared from the side of the track after passing them.
Celibrates a crash like he's just smashed in the winner off the underside of the crossbar in a Champions league final with a volley from 30 yards. LOL. He's a marshal. He just knows where to sit.
3:06 The guy has "liina perseeseen" shirt on which is Finnish and could be translated as "strap to the ass". Obviously his only objective in these events is to drag cars off the ditch with his tow strap. I guess he just wants to avoid the special stage getting stopped because cars cannot be removed fast enough. The guy's name is Aarne Toivo and he's from Finland. He is just a rally fan that tries to guess the corner with most incidents and tries to pull cars back to road as fast as possible. The hat has used beer cans sewed to it but Aarne is 100% sober during the rally events for safety reasons.
I cannot believe Jimmer is doing a video on the beer hat guy. Truly the crossover of the century. I've had the honour of seeing him in action a few times. It's an experience. Also, fun fact! I'm pretty sure the driver of the car at 4:52 is now-TGR-WRT driver Takamoto Katsuta!
Dude is a savant for knowing where a car is likely to go off, and i would guess he may have been a driver at some point. He reacts way before a casual fan would know that the car won't make the corner in some of these. If you see this man at a corner, you be VERY careful. The grim reaper carries no scythe, but instead a rope and a tow hook
24:21 I'm absolutely not with you here. Exactly on the the timecode the car on the right decided to move left for whatever reason and cause this crash. Probably in a stupid attempt to block the car in the middle but far, far to late and as well not a good idea after rejoining. And the middle car obviously wanted to give space as a precaution to the slower left one.
