Tracks are nice I guess I really don’t know don’t have one lol. Just looks like more maintenance as the machine ages. And would like to know what kind of turn radius does it have.
For these four-track machines, what determines if a fixed or articulated frame is right for you? Is it mostly a machine size and price matter with the articulated ones being the "larger brothers" or do they serve different purposes altogether?
Only the largest tractors are articular specifically for those reasons, the size would make it useless to 90% of the market without this ability and as it requires more hydraulic rams etc obviously raises cost
Ok big guy, how well does it go back onto 4 tracks after cornering on 3? There is also the saying; "smoke em if you got em" can that beast smoke a track or 2 on take-off?
@@94chevyz71 That's why I said....About.......so you didn't answer the question . The manufacturer must have tested the time span on the tracks just like tire manufacturers.
@@freedomring4813 Tire manufactures don't a tread life rating on ag tires because depending on field conditions and how many highway miles you put on. A set of tires might last twice as long on one machine as they do on another strictly because of different ground conditions.
... I said....About how long....you know....average life expectancy. Oh and I grew up on a farm and have run heavy equipment for 40 years. So that's why I say ABOUT. I could burn all of the rubber off of my truck with a HEMI in it so I know I wouldn't get the average miles on them. But I'm sure that the manufacturer's have average life expectancies on different soils....my question was to BTP or someone that knows an answer.
@@mikemerrill175 In the EU machinery speed is measured in kph. 26 mph is equal to 41.8429 kph. So yes they do travel in the low 40s kilometer per hour if that is what you are asking.
I will compare this tractor to the 4440 except better because of new technology and it's on tracks, this tractor will be a huge seller for JD just like the 4440 was.
Except for the front tracks it looks like a Case IH rowtrac. Also, what is that rattling noise that can be heard in the background? It sounds like a loose metal panel or something.
That was probably my favourite tractor for 2019 too bad you couldn’t got another comparable tractor and had a little drag race out the countryside somewhere that would’ve been funny
N.R.L. a D. Yes , the rest are 9 series, x-15 Cummins 612 horsepower. I have 18,000 acres so I need lots of them especially to pull my 60 foot cultivation machine
It all depends on how much road travel and the field conditions the tractor encounters. I have seen tracks replaced after a year with the tractor having 1,000 hours in a season. Normally I see tracks get replaced after 3 years. But where I live tractors get 600 to 1,000 hours of use per year.
I don't understand how they look like an afterthought. I could see that on tractors with aftermarket tracks where the fenders are shaped for tires. But these fenders are literally shaped to the tracks. How much more thought could they put into it? I'm curious. What would you have done?

Hey, could you do a video with Chris losey? Hes got a massive collection of white and oliver tractors. Search his name on RU-vid and you'll see his channel.
I am a fan of Chris and subscribe to his channel. I would like to feature his 1950 Terra Tire and the Oliver 830 Forage Harvester. If I could get time to get out his way I would gladly feature his line up. It’s a very cool one.
It’s an issue on a lot of them. The 6r tractors tend to loose the gas strut power after some time. My 8320r from 2010 with 5000 hours has a lot of play on the steering column.
JustinHEMI thanks for watching. No farms no food. U would love my biggest one. X -15 Cummins 620 horsepower. I pull a 60 foot wide plow. Let me work let me live.
There are differences. It is a bit stiff but everything is suspended. With tires you experience a lope going down the road. Tracks are not often road friendly for the ride but over all I found this 8RX to be a nice ride in the road.
Does sub soiling actually work for getting a bigger and healthier yield for the next crop that is planted ? I had a discussion with someone that said it's an absolute waste of time, money, labor, etc. Are there any farmers in here that can truly answer the question that sub soiling is a waste of time or does it really help ? I would also like your feedback as well Jason especially, as you talk and see so much of this from many different farms and farmers. Thanks for any feedback and thumbs up as always !!!
august soil type normally determines tillage style, heavy clay soils are prone to compaction if worked wet or multiple trips, such as row crops. Heavy harvest equipment will add to the problem. I have seen many times this happen. The damage can last for years unless this deep
The 9RX is better for a big tillage job that requires power. The advantage I see the 8RX has is tight turning which is a plus for planting and strip tillage.
The 8RX in this video had driven 15 miles on the rd at the point of filming it. I have not heard of any melting on an 8RX. I have heard of over heating and melting on corn planters with tracks.
@@bigtractorpower Thanks for your reply. Maybe it was an unique situation or that guy just did lie about it. His RU-vid name is: Border View Farms. He even put some powder on top of those wheels to prevent them for heating. I searched for the video-link but i cant remember which video it was. He has many :)

@@bigtractorpower lol my backhoe does 14mph down hill @1900 2000 rpm so I don't know what I would do except go to the chiropractors more often doing those speeds..😆
@@bigtractorpower thanks for the in site would have never guessed.. my experience with tracks is running a dozer and excavator on a granite gold mine, its like driving on ice but 100 degree+..
For tracks it’s a good clip. The fastest wheel tractors are around 32 mph. You also can only tow an implement so fast as implement tires often have to run slower than a tractors top speed.
OK this is strange. In Europe JD "S" Hervesters on wheels have top speed of 15mph, on tracks 18.5mph. All tractors are limited to 26mph but I make them go 33.5mph. And ... 2017 9RX has top speed of 33.5mph from factory (I have 3 in my neighborhood). And EVERYBODY who has JDs with rised speed say the same "they ride much smoother". So I really don't understand why on new tracked tractor the top speed is limited to 26mph
In reality same speed as most half trac or stered track tractors. The original Claas Lexion 760 Terra Trac did 26mph as well. The slower ones are because they are giants (like Stiger quadtracks) or they use defierential steering like the RT and the Challengers.
