@@sorabasic I am native Russian speaker, so when I am trying to translate Fin to Rus the google does double translation Fin - Eng - Rus. Which sometimes creates bad translation. For example the name of the song. "valonkantaja" -> Light carrier -> "Легкий носитель". "light" in English has two meanings "sun light" and "the item is light (weight)" and google translated to Russian as "lightweight carrier" There is another example, Some word (I forgot it :( ) in Finnish to say "cool" (nice, wow) then google translates it to English "cool" and then to Russian as "chill", but there are Russian word for the "cool" (nice). So every time I see something strange in the translation I have to do a revers translation to English and then understand what is the trick.
Long time ago Google translated, anoppi kylässä( mother inlaw visiting) motherfucker in the village, as Kylässä means in the village but it also means visiting someone. Unfortunately Google corrected it .
The translation makes sense. Liito: the act of cliding, technically flying Shit: shit Saaja: someone who gets something, so beneficiary does make sense.
I think I know what's going on here. It's supposed to translate to "joint welder", but it somehow skipped translating "liitos" as a word, and instead makes it "liito-shit-saaja" when it's supposed to be "liitos-hitsaaja". And that is how flying (or rather gliding) shit recipient was born.

The word vallesmanninapulainen means assistant of a village police chief, and now a year later google translate has modified it a bit and now returns "Vallesman's assistant" 🤣
Also, if you ever hear of a passenger plane in Finland accidentally taxiing on a forest road connecting to two other roads you know Google has successfully integrated google autopilot with google translate Finnish 🤣

@@Fiat_126 TOTI is a Finnish word for toddy. Google translator think that it means TOSI in some examples I wrote there. I had written many kind of types of TOTI-word in Finnish, to see how Translator will translate those. After that, Google asked if I want English for translated texts of all videos (not Finnish at all) and I choose English. So, Finnish really is very difficult to translate precisely here. 🤔

I remember a fan instructions, that were translated into Finnish using some translator program... Most sensible part translated into English: "Drive no help admirer at home window. Rain month of May cause electric game of chance"
Also, if you write ”juo kaljaa” (drink beer) it translates that into ”drink shit”. Unless you write it with the first letter capitalized, then it translates to ”have a drink”
Sometimes it cannot get even very basic words right and it's really frustrating. Many times it gives you like.. kinda a correct answer but wrong. Like yeah I suppose it translates Also to that but it wouldn't be the first choice ever and I'm not gonna use it even if I'm blanking out for it sounding kinda dumb even if getting the point across. Sometimes it gives you a normal word that just isn't right one, no idea where it got the idea. Then are these harder words which are a complete gamble in every way.
That's so relatable...I tried to use Google translate in Finland and my god what an annoyance it was. On several occasions my host told me that the results were offending.
Something I experienced myself was about 12 years ago. Online friend tried to say "I love my big lug of a dragon" and it came out as "Rakastan isoa nokkaanlohikäärme." XD
Their some words that google doesn't like in some finnish words and if you switch certain words around they become normal again in the language or whatever so bizzare i didnt ever notice that as a kid
When I was translating a piece of text with it it translated "selin" as "naked". No idea where that came from 😂 "olla selin" is Finnish for when something or someone has its/their back turned to you

Meanwhile I'm trying to learn Japanese with Google Translate while it translates to Katakana just about 99% of everything I throw at it. I'm now convinced that Katakana was made by Google to make up for their limited knowledge of Japanese

Liitoshitsaaja (Flying shit beneficiary) That's brilliant! If you took that word apart it would indeed have 3 words in it, Glide, Shit, and Beneficiary. What makes it odd is that Google translate is not understanding it's one words and is even plaving English word shit in there when that is not Finnish word. I wonder why it thinks Liito is Fly when it's Glide The correct answer would be joint welder (person), how ever the liitos part is not needed so it's absurd to even include it.
_Butt welding_ is actually a thing and is *almost* correct: liitos = joint hitsaaja = welder liitoshitsaaja = joint welder According to Wikipedia *_butt welding_*_ is when two pieces of metal are placed end-to-end without overlap and then welded along the joint._ Funny word, but that isn't exactly Google's fault. The only problem seems to be that butt welding is too specific a word, since there are other types of joint welding... 🤔 Still made me laugh, though! 😁👍
it's just that finnish words are mostly so different in their lenght than english words for example jääkaappi which translated to english means fridge or muistiinpano which translated means note
