Lovely to see the differences. In india we have the hoses concealed in steel tubes. The valves are also covered with stainless steel boxes to prevent theft.
good work Driver. you had me worried for a second before you showed where you were venting the trailer. i usually stick the ear of the cap in the hook up by the load heads when i vent a pump off load.
Cool video, from what I saw you may need a rainwater drain in your hose compartment. Unless this hose shelf also acts as containment basin. I very much liked it how respectful and diligent you are even of the smallest leak(drip). Respectively Sven.
I did this job in the military and I would unload up to 112K gallons per day using a pump. I would be outside the whole time just like you were. Our pumps would pump around 500 gpm and we had hundreds of feet of rubber hose so you wouldint want any problems!
Your runs must have been crazy short, 14 loads in a single day is a crazy number, that's a load an hour at 14 hour shifts (which would be dot hos limits and it's hard to imagine the military wanting to push past that without special circumstances for safety, and I think dot limits for gazmat might actually be lower, those are the basic property limits). Just unloading at 500 gpm is 16 minutes per load, plus set up, take down, loading, travel, I'm honestly finding that number hard to believe.
Wouldn't mind a dollar for every pump job I done in my tanker days for Cootes in Australia. Added a bit of variety on top of countless service stations.
Yes sir you're very welcome I look up to big truck ever since I was little and always wonder how things work I look forward to seeing more video and it is very interesting
took a lot of deliveries of Jet A. we had to check the specific gravity against the manifest before we gave the driver the OK to start the delivery. above ground tanks and our pump sucked the truck dry. 7500 gallons. took about 30 minutes.
Heres a little tip , cut some of that white plastic strapping tape from packages into 4 inch long pieces and use it as a shim behind the camlock ears . Works great for those little suprise leaks . The plastic is soft so it smashes down and doesnt hurt anything and its about a half inch wide so it fits perfectly behind the camlock .
Different set up to what we have in Australia, pump connections near the tail lights. Also see you have the frigging annoying kenworth beep beep beep ecertine u start it up 😳
I'm a roadtrain fuel tanker driver from Australia, it's interesting to see how it's done elsewhere. Our 3 trailers, 160 odd ft, are plumbed so the whole load, 110000 litres (29000 gal) can be pumped out without unhooking trailers.
I appreciate it, but yeah I run 1203 mostly if I have an empty compartment with gasoline vapor in it. We run 5 compartment trailers, and when I load diesel I usually only load 4 compartments.

Was wondering if you were going to strap your pressure hoses. It can be a huge mess if the hose clamp gives 7-10 gallons a second at high pressure makes for a bad day.
Good video. Question, how do you log all your deliveries as to what is still left onboard of the various grades? There is a lot more to the job than just hookup and dump. I hauled and delivered various cryogenic liquid gasses and always had to ensure what I still carried left onboard, DOT requirement in case of any road hazards that maybe evolved.
From one fuel hauler to another love your videos bro! Is there an email I can contact you directly? I have a couple of questions about Colonial Fuels...
I’m hoping you can answer this, so that was how to pump off a diesel load but what about pumping out a tank that’s at a station? Or say for some reason you need to pump out a silo, is everything hooked up the same and just reverse pumping? Thanks man
@@brockkubat9747 i have a different tanker truck for light oil, but you can set the 4 way valves to discharge or suck on a line, and other valves to send into whichever compartment in the tanks you want. so if you wanted to pump out and back in for whatever reason, it'd use the same line, but a different valve configuration on the truck
Great but i don't like something on this download sistem: 1)the pump on the tractor can be turner It on just inside the vehicle. The same to stop It. I think everything run better and safer if the truck turn on An oil hidraulic pump and this turn on the fuel pump with An hidraulic motor that can be switch on and off from outside the truck and stopped in case of emergency. I use this sistem since 25 years in Italy. Thank for your video. Have good work.
Great information. Shows real life application vs the fake stuff. I have a question. From my understanding,.most tankers bring in 7,500 gallons due to diesel being heavier. You mentioned in video it receiving above ground tank needs to be of more capacity. Do you believe a 8,000 gallon will do it?
Luv this, and please allow me to share how this fare in ISO14001:2015 in one of its evaluation criteria: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fKu9UlARkzs.html
This is the first time watching a video fueling. How does their tank vent? Because i didn't see a you recover the air being displaced out of their take.
Question please, will you have fuel left in the hose after you're tanks are empty,if so,how do you get that fuel into the tanks? I'm sure if this was an underground tank, you'll just roll the fuel into the tank.
If it’s an underground tank then yes, I just roll the hose. I do the same with a pump load. The pump still has suction, so when I roll the hose up it gets as much as possible out and into the pump then pushes it into the tank.
@@DrtyDiesel Hi I have few questions? 1- I did not saw any Earthing? 2- After completion close the pump suction valve and keep running the pump to empty the hose cargo, will pump stop automatically if it dose not get cargo in suction or will keep running? Please share how to load another road tanker from your tanker? you can reply me separately if it is possible? I have more to ask. Thanks
@@MuhammadKhan-zv9rn 1. The hoses have copper wires running through them that ground the tank to my trailer when I hook up. 2. After I’m done I walk the hoses down and empty any product, then turn the pump off and close all valves. 3. I have recorded video of pumping from one tank to another, but can’t seem to find it. I apologize.
I enjoy it, I was company for 3 years then switched to owner op. I definitely like it here. I’m not sure about tank wagon side, but I know they usually have consistent work for them.
Ground cable not needed, hoses have grounding cable running through them. No drip Pail on my truck, and a bucket won’t fit under it. Cones or barriers not needed. High vis and FR clothing also not needed.
@DrtyDiesel HI I am from Canada , I was just asking because all those things we need to do up here. I hauled fuel for 30 years and trained for 10 of those, it was a good career. Stay safe and keep doing a good job
@@Marknorth60 i understand, where I am FR clothing is only required at the racks we load at. And it’s only a few that do. I didn’t take any offense to your comment. I hope you enjoy your day 😁
You should drain that shelf where the long length of tubing is stowed or drill a couple holes to drain the water off it to keep the hoses dry. Water can sometime destroy them.
Ok noticed you are using the 1203 placards. Why not the 1993? I have used 1203 for diesel before. Some say to use 1993 and then switch to 1203 if gas is on with the diesel. But I read somewhere 1203 can be used Even for diesel. Obviously the BOL shows diesel is on the truck or trailer or both
I was running 1203 due to having gas vapor in compartment 3 that was empty. The law varies from state to state though. Some states don’t recognize vapor as being product, and would require me to placard for whatever is loaded.
@@DrtyDiesel that makes sense. Yes that is what I do. If I leave a compartment empty that had gas and is vapor. I haven't done any pump offs yet. I need to learn those so I can be more skilled with all delivery of fuel. I was working for pilot Flying J and had an unlucky deal with a time off request. So they claimed I didn't turn in days off. I actually had and was told I was able to be off. then they said I didn't have it scheduled two weeks before. I kept telling them I had given days in September for Thanksgiving weekend. Not so much for the holiday but that I needed to deal with a family situation and a recognition for my daughter we had scheduled. So I told the manager and regional Manager and dispatch and dispatch was ok with it but someone else at the top came back and said no after I was told I was ok. Bad communication with to many chiefs and a mass of drivers all over the country.
