As soon as Ant threw that ball away, we all knew what was going to happen. Only thing Luka did wrong was leave us time on the clock. Unfortunately we don't have the closers to make him pay for that.

The Mavs are just playing the perfect defense to offset his greatest skill, scoring at the rim. Ant has to develop his midrange more like Luka and Kyrie, and he also has to really work on his playmaking. The reason Luka can do so well against the best defense in the NBA, is because he has a counter move for everything! Luka is the best three-level scorer in the league, and then you add the generational playmaking ability and he's basically unguardable. Ant has to develop more counters to various defenses. Also, Ant was like this in the regular season too, he had plenty of games where he was scoring around 15 points and shooting poorly.

Mavs fan here, but if I'm Minnesota, I'm running more 4/5 P&Rs with KAT and Rudy, and featuring Conley as much as possible, getting him downhill off screens, in the lane for that offhand floater. Those actions have been effective, they just haven't done them enough.

The way Kyrie and Luka can pass to their big for a quick dunk consistently has me wondering why we don't do the same with Conley and Anderson to Naz or KAT. Rudy has been hit or miss but these younger bigs are getting the best of him. They are doing our formula better than we are right now

I keep hearing Wolves fans saying “ our best players played awful but we barely lost” this are the same sentiments we heard from Clippers and OKC fans. Ya’ll need to remember that’s how playoff series and championships are won! You barely lose 4 games in a series you are OUT!!! Blow out or winning by one is the same in the playoffs!! I think you can look at it 2 ways. One way is that Dallas just stole the 2 home games and has too much momentum early and will take this series early. And the wolves are simply outmatched. Two is that wolves will figure out Dallas not to the point where we shut them down but to gather some efficient games. And this could benefit the wolves. Because once we do figure them out it’ll be in the later part of the series and could lead to us having more momentum into the later parts of the series

Too many Wolves fans still referencing the series against Denver and assuming that since Minnesota won several games on the road in that series, that they'll be able to win on the road in this series.... Or referencing the fact that Minnesota came back and won the last two games when they needed it against Denver after the Nuggets had won three in a row, and so they think this WCF series is also going to be like that, but despite the games being super close, I think it looks pretty obvious that Dallas presents some unsolvable issues for the Wolves, with Luka first and foremost. I picked Mavs in 6 before the series and I'll stick with that for now. I think the Wolves could still win a game or two, but so far they have no answer for Luka and Kyrie, and if the Dallas role players shoot a little better, the Wolves are in trouble.

Don’t matter. Luka and Kyrie aren’t affected by the type of defense you throw at them. More often than not They can make adjustments on the fly and still do the things they need to do. . Wolves fans can take solace in the fact that it’s really hard to beat the same team three times in a row. 😆 😂 😝

2 things can be true... The Wolves top 2 shot 21 of 69 in the last 2 games and only lost by 1 possession each time and thus could easily be up 2-0. The Wolves top 2 failed to execute in crucial games and thus being down 0-2 going back to Dallas may just mean their finished as the task of 4 of 5 with 3 in Dallas is just too much to overcome.

On one hand, in a close game, it is clear Luka and maybe Irving is on a different level processing the game comparative to ANT's ability to make the right surgical decision making. On the other hand, Wolves outside of Naz shot really poorly on a lot of open shots...so the stage to have that game is really at the fault of the Wolves on hustling on transition D and shooting well. In a close game, ANT just is not there wise enough to figure it out and where he looks over his head.

Yes, this isn’t a MIN-specific problem. I know it’s tough to swallow with a defense that great, but they’ve made the right decision to eliminate PJ/DJJ 3s. You gotta pick between lobs or letting them light you up from 3 (ask OKC how that goes). The takeaway for Wolves fans should be Luka is unsolvable, Kyrie isn’t human… but we need KAT to show up and not put all the pressure on a 22-year old kid. Naz kinda took over that in game 2 but DAL will probably live with that. MIN lost the game in the final 2:30 of the 1H but in both games Mavs fans have felt great about the Wolves wanting to play 110 basketball. Despite the lead I felt great seeing MIN with 60 at half because the Mavs are the best clutch team in the league and MIN very much isn’t. So they’ve either gotta slow the pace way down or you’re asking for trouble trying to beat Luka/Kyrie to 110 over a full 48 minutes.

I’m a Mavs fan and while I loved it because I knew how Luka/Kyrie were gonna respond to it, but it’s pissed me off because it’s sooo unfair that Ant is now getting mocked for something he had nothing to do with. I love Ant so much but he’s 22. Give the kid a chance to grow because he’s a problem now-Ant at 25 is beyond scary. We don't have the right personnel to be a lob team. KAT is not a high flyer (notice he has NEVER been a lob dunker in his career) and Rudy can catch them if you place them perfectly, but he doesn't have the hands for it. They have to be placed perfectly. Dallas has young, springy, athletic bigs with GREAT hands and two of the best lob passers in the game placing it perfectly for them.

Bingo. OKC faced the same Luka dilemma and chose option B and got burned by PJ/DJJ. I think MIN is probably making the right decision-I wouldn’t recommend trying route 2 in DAL because PJ or DJJ will burn you. MIN needs someone (*cough* KAT *cough*) to consistently take the pressure off Ant. The Mavs are willing to live with McDaniels/Conley/Anderson/Naz (although I need Naz to chill lol all Mavs fans already have Naz PTSD) beating them. I thought KAT was the key to this series because the Mavs have no counter without Kleber plus he’s always killed Dallas and he’s largely no-showed.

This is the homer side of me again, but I have not been impressed by Dallas as a team. We have played awful and lost by a combined 4 pts. I thought Dallas was this stunning shutdown defense that had 3pt snipers everywhere….cmon Wolves….dont give up yet

You don't have to be impressed, tbh. A loss is a loss and you just have to live with it. And to be fair, Mavs had like the 2nd best defense in this post-season only behind by Wolves. I mean, if the Mavs was not impressing you at all, then the Wolves is even more embarrassing to say the least.

How about fouling right away since Dallas is in the bonus, have them earn it at the line for a tie. If they make both shots, we will still have a ton of time left to take the lead and win and if we miss, it goes into overtime. But to be honest, to let Luka hit a shot like that at the end of the game is deflating for the wolves. Poor coaching, poor play and poor adjustments. We need to be better, period!

I don’t literally mean fire Chris Finch obviously, but even allowing Luka to take the shot, much less giving him the switch on Gobert (you gotta know the history between them-that’s literally how he ended up in MIN) is a borderline fireable offense haha. Luka is a psychopathic killer you CANNOT give him any opportunity to kill you because he lives for that… hence his savage shit talk in “Slovenian” after burying it lol

Fair shake. Gobert is not who you think he is. Google Luka vs Jazz 2022. Luka blew up that team. Towns is charming ultra soft. Edwards is a nice player but not the guy yet. Luka is the best player in the league and outside of Jokic.. it’s not really close.

Luka dragged a worse Mavs team to a WCF two years ago at 22. Lukas time cannot be denied but regardless of any outcome Jaden and Naz have redeemed themselves after sitting out last year injured. Edwards has slowed down quite a bit and injury or not it's disappointing. But even still in four years he's been to the playoffs three times and now experienced a WCF of his own. That's nothing but progress
