Is it crazy to try some KAT on Luka? KAT is long and physical, and is Luka really going to blow by him?

You know I’ve thought about this too: it’s sorta the same concept of planting KAT on somebody who is gonna get their own anyways (Jokic / KD), and KAT IS a big body to limit Luka from driving. However I think Kyle is right in saying that Luka will often times find his rhythm when his defender is more physical, rather than a lengthy defender who is disrupting passing lanes. To answer your question no it’s not crazy to wonder that, I just think the Wolves have better ideas.

I am not seeing the wolves as being especially vulnerable in this series going forward. As long as they stay humble and meet the big moment by playing big I think they should win.

Kyrie was trying to send a message, but we were up 3 points at halftime. Still up 1 after 3 quarters. There were just too many turnovers in the 4th that killed any momentum when our offense was struggling to find a bucket. Luka isn't a great 3pt shooter, he's a career 34.7% shooter from 3, but hitting a little higher this season at 38%. I would concede the step back 3 rather than letting him dish to gafford/lively on those open dunks.

What if we put naz/kyle/jaden on luka, but then switch the pick and rolls. Those guys switch on to the screeners Lively/Gafford, and we can deter the lob and try to get Luka to play tons of 1v1 against our big strong guys.

As a Mavs fan, Luka’s only weakness is someone he can’t bully physically - you need a strong defender like Dort or Wiggins. Y’all have a personnel problem because Conley too small and Goebert is liability - don’t forget Luka played this guy off the floor in Utah. Even as talented and athletic as the wolves are, you have to solve that problem to have a chance. Good luck tonight! ✌️

It's a fair point. I think actually having Ant on Luka might be the answer to get the physicality matchup. Jaden is super handsy too and Luka is a master at drawing fouls.

Luka is quite strong, NAW has the length like Jaden but can be pushed around by Doncic. I think swapping defenders to keep Luka off rhythm might be the best bet and keep guys fresh for turns on Irving as well

Gotta give Baby Mac some shorts runs if it looks like Luka or Kyrie are getting comfortable. Baby Mac's speedy, has quick hands, and can be a real pest. Could help to keep Dallas off kilter.

The hangover from the largest come back in game 7 history is real. I'm anticipating no stamina issues in game 2. If Denver had won that game 7 I think they would have struggled with stamina at the end of game 1 as well. Also, you gotta tip your cap to Dallas for shaking off that game 1 bad energy that they have been having. I think the wolves were hoping to benefit from that. No such luck I guess. Dallas knew the wolves could be vulnerable in game 1 and they took advantage.

The winner in a game 7 in a series of the last 14 instances playing in a game 1 where both teams competing teams didnt play 7 the previous series is 0-14. This stat is since 2014. So game 7 fatique and overwhelmness is REAL!!!! WOLVES will be ok tonight. Lets gooooooo.

He looks more hurt than exhausted. I noticed that him grabbing his lower back looks like exhaustion but that’s also where he got banged up in game six against the nuggets.
